I think I've looked at every video on KZfaq to see how to do a men's haircut. Just bought clippers and no idea how to use them. This is by far, BY FAR, the easiest video to follow. Thank you very much!!!!!

I've just cut my son's hair and this is almost what I did. Reviewing this video for extra tips before I do my partner's hair. Slightly different styles though but extremely useful video. One has all one length on back and finger length on top. Other has gradient on both back and top. Thank you

just cut my own hair, looks good to me much easier then i thought! thanks for the tips shaved with the blending like you said then i just trimmed/cut my longer hair on top the length i wanted by doing section at a time that was actually the hardest part to cut your own hair with scissors.

Ok, I'm armed, ready & possibly dangerous! Got my hubby pinned down & I'm going in, if I make a dog's dinner of his mullet the upside is his hair grows super fast, so by the end of lockdown nobody will be any the wiser & it will be ready for another trim, the downside being the kids will have a good laugh, wish me luck 😆

Glad to see a professional finds it hard to cut with scissors while looking in the mirror, too. I felt like such a idiot! For those of us who prefer a pixie style cut, highly recommend getting some larger guards. Did mine with mostly the #8. Will definitely buy some thinning or blending shears as soon as places have them in stock again! Seems everyone has the same idea.

Thank you George - my hair was driving me nuts 12 weeks since the last cut. Remembered we had some clippers in the cupboard and wifey did the honours (after a glass or two of wine!) Results are not too shabby at all...just needs blending in a little more next time. Thanks again.

Hi George excellent video. Ive been clipping my own hair for 17 years but it's a number 1 economical cut even that takes a bit of practice. I wouldn't do somebody else's unless it's a number 1 .

Great video! I am a grade 1 back and sides guy with grade 5 on top, sounds easy, i'll be giving it a go. Clippers are ready to go as I am fed up of grade 1 all over now!

Unbelievable,how fast hair actually grows,after a couple of weeks, like a cave man, also unbelievable,how difficult to buy a pair of clippers, everywhere sold out of better known brands,so eventually managed to purchase a pair,at drastically inflated price,and once they are delivered, I am going for it, and if it works, I'll be doing my own haircuts from now on. I've been cutting my own hair since Feb 2018. Using clippers at varying lengths on the back and sides is easy enough, but when it comes to scissor cutting the top, it's always a bit 'hope for the best'! Even after 27 months, I haven't really got it down to a fine art! That's why I just take a bit off every week, which is a bit of a pain, but it means I don't lose my way too much, and if I do mess up, I only have to wait another week for it to not be noticeable.

Great idea using the phone and laptop to see the Back! I used a mirror and found it very difficult it didn't end well as to why I'm back on KZfaq looking for more tips 😂😂

Thank you for giving me the confidence to give my DH a quarantine haircut. It turned out quite well, and most importantly, he's really happy with the results! Now if only I could better channel your technique for a DIY cut like the one you instructed Alexa Chung to do on herself. My recent attempt was not as glorious. Sigh.

Thank you very much for your easy to understand tutorial. I have given myself a short back and side and i think that it is passable. From the front it is of the quality I'd be happy with from a barber The tapering at the back may not be quite perfect (I can't see it clearly) but following your instructions I did a lot better than I feared.

I have a mains Wahl and never made a good job but with your "up and away" technique I have gone from scruffy Neanderthal (apols to any Neanderthals watching ) to Tsssss ! I am a woman who likes having short hair but not very short like in the video. I cut my own hair with a clipper and scissors. I took an intensive men's haircut course last Dec and Jan. Having an artistic background helps the control of my hand with the clipper. I finally have a much better haircut after the haircut course.

Do you recommend any particular brand of relatively inexpensive shears?

I've bought a Wahl trimmer that comes with the eight attachments. Would it be okay to use the eight across the whole head before doing what you are showing? My hair needed cut before the lockdown, and is now a Boris-level shaggy mop! :(
