I think he's more annoyed by Alastor's theatrics. Alastor ownes Husk's soul, so he must've known the Radio Demon was still kickin' or he would've felt the breaking of the contract.

The end design of the hotel has a radio room at the top right. It seems they knew he wasn't dead somehow. Also I like that on the opposite side there is an apple room for lucifer

Yeah, honestly after watching him for a while, it doesn't even register that he's smiling anymore, the subtle bumps in his smile start to subconsciously register as his actual expression. It's really impressive work.

He is constantly smiling but they do an amazing job making you not even notice that. His emotions are very clear in the way they do his expressions.

I don’t think I’ve ever been able to even _imagine_ canon Alastor looking so shaken, unhinged, desperate, and manic all at the same time before this sequence. Sure he still has the vague shape of his normal smile, but his eyebrows creasing, upper lip curling, eyes wildly darting around, subtler yet much more frequent ear movements than have been in the entire show up till now, and of course his hands gripping his face and mussing his hair - that is a man barely hanging onto the last threads of his already questionable sanity. And I kinda love it. Alastor’s such a cool villain. So much about him is shrouded in mystery, he’s charming enough to trick _the audience_ into thinking he can be trusted, and even at a lower power level, his sheer determined _menace_ is enough for him to still prove a threat. I knew I made a wise decision picking him as my favorite character from the pilot, and while Lucifer has almost certainly usurped that spot in the show proper, I have a feeling Al will still be a favorite villain by the show’s end. This Radio Asshole’s come a long way from the little feral gremlin deer he started as circa 2008, and I gotta say, I’m kinda proud of him 🖤📻🦌

The green stitching over his mouth when he made the deal with Charlie implies to me that he can't stop smiling, and may be a constraint of HIS deal with (presumably) Lilith.

​@@johngaynor4363 I dont think it's because he's forced to keep smiling that he has those stitches, but to stop him from cannibalising the other souls. Like, he has teeth like the cannibals in Cannibal Town and a close friendship with Rosie, plus a backstory that involves him being a cannibal radio presenter. So I think when he was making himself known as the Radio Demon, he was cannibalising those overlord souls, and someone likely defeated him and forced him to stop. Which could be Lilith, but could potentially be Zestial (as he's the only one with a bright green colour scheme and he's one of two overlords confirmed to be older than Alastor (with the other, Camilla, being a close friend of his).

There are tons of frames in the pilot where he isn't smiling. I wonder if they are cannon anymore.
