Appreciate the video trying to simplify such a complicated hobby! Your triangle diagram is really clever. You mentioned air stones left on at night might be reducing C02 levels.. thats intriguing, will look into it.

great video Blake, Keepitassimple as possible :). i struggle with lack of Potassium, i get alot of pin pricks. i have found root tabs do the trick, not really fertiliser in the water column. i know that my lights are also not the best, but they do just enough. great video!!

Pinholes can be confusing though because sometimes it's plecos chewing to aggressively on plants. So you should probably know how to spot the difference between nutrient causes holes and chewing😊

My bristlenose trio eat my aponogeton. It was huge and beautiful, but now there’s only a few tiny leaves hanging in there at any given time. They basically eat it as fast as it can grow. Not sure why, but they absolutely love that plant specifically.

@@streettrash4220 I moved all my plecos to one tank. I was soo sick of them eating plants that I was trying to grow out. At first I couldn't figure it out. I tried using flourish which caused huge hair algae /and filamentous algae. I finally figured out it was plecos the whole time.

This is what I'm going with for my first planted aquarium as well. They are water column feeders so they don't need any soil. Other water column feeders that aren't rhizomatous are nice options too; any of the hygrophila family and bacopa are nice if you want to actually plant some plants and not just attach them to decor. Then of course there is floating plants too.

Hey,With underwater wisteria and water sprite would you recommend using root tabs or liquid fertiliser(seachem flourish) or both. I already added in 3 root tabs to my 145litre aquarium into the 4 terrocotta pots in my tank (I cut up the root tabs).Would it be safe (as in low algae risk) to add liquid fertiliser twice a week? The tank has run for like 6months but the plants were added 4hrs ago Thankyou!!!!
@BlakesAquatics
@BlakesAquatics Жыл бұрын
Those plants are definitely going to be water column feeders, in fact they can be floated anyways. I would recommend a liquid fert but definitely something with a bit more oomph than flourish

Hey mate Love the Betta sorority tank. Could you please do a video showing the size of the tank, the plants and amount, what Betta's you have (I gather all females or is there one lucky male), type of Bettas (are they all the same, and if so, type. Love the blue BTW), how you introduced the fish (did you buy them all at once or in batches etc). I though a video would be better (or even Betta 😂) than answering questions in the comments. Cheers

@@madmax1412 fry can be kept together a super long time, in most cases forever as lomg as you dont change anything Parents were marbled hmpk but also be mindful bettas only breed from between 8 months or so up to maybe 2 years

It never makes sense to me. I've got tanks with aquasoil and sand so the roots can get right through and they grow shockingly. I've got a tank with just a thin layer of very fine gravel and the tank has been taken over by the plants. No Co2 at all.
