I’m really surprised that Waylon Smithers Sr. Death isn’t in here! I mean he got killed due to nuclear radiation, leaving his son (Smithers jr) without a father. Mr burns even hides his corpse where child homer finds him covered in maggots. It was definitely a super dark death

Homer was strangled by Abe, and Abe was strangled by his father and the cycle goes on and on, they're necks have grown more and more resilient to being strangled to the point Bart may just be unstrangulable.

A more gruesome death you missed that I think disproved #1 was in a Disney land themes episode we see families with children included in a mist room (with no walls) to escape the heat, they are told they have to leave, they refuse and the mist is turned into acid melting them all. Not is this only an acid death, but children are killed making this darker

You forgot Smither's father, that one was always terrifying, Homer's mom, and Bleeding Gums Murphy. The "I, Carumbus" ones didn't feel like they should have been in there, as they are all non-canon and it kind of destroys the point if half of your deaths are from a non-canon episode that was made to be brutal.

Missed quite a few. Like for example Homer beating up the Hamburglar in front of children as Krusty, and the scene where half of Homer's party guests drowned when they all fell into the sea in a net.

I kinda feel like all the ones from the Ancient Rome episode shouldn't have been included. Episodes like that are just the characters telling stories. Unless it's a literal flashback, people from these stories don't belong in with the rest of the characters. Seems silly to keep that in, while at the same time cutting out Treehouse of Horror.

Maude Flanders' death made me really angry, and it still does today. She was a character who didn't really "have" to die. While some might call it an accident, I still blame Homer. It was part of his seemingly unending "Jerk-Ass" period, and it's easily one of the worst things that he has ever done.

The most gruesome non-canonical death is definitely Moe getting burned alive in the revenge episode in season 21, I remember watching that as a kid and being a little traumatised by seeing his corpse after it had been completely fried

For me one of the most gruesome death in the simpson is the death of Smither father, i mean even if it’s just a character we see in a flashback and that we don’t see him dying, it’s probably extremely painfull to slowly die in a nuclear systeme, plus the fact that his son was watching him with Burns (who was describing the scene) and that we get to see his corpse is kinda dark …

Star Wars Rebels: Good to Evil Side note, when you eventually do this list, DO NOT include Palpatine as he was only featured in two episodes via hologram, and had little impact on the series. Besides, in ever other "Star Wars Good to Evil", Palpatine has always been claimed the evilest character. And while he is evil, he shouldn't be included in a series he had little impact in.

One of the saddest and most painful would probably be Smithers dads death ( which you didn’t seem to cover because of only focusing on one episode) There’s plenty more deaths in the simpsons actually not covered here because they are in earlier seasons

If you do Treehouse of Horror Deaths: Gruesome to Most Gruesome, cover it for this years Halloween. For the rules: Onscreen deaths, no offscreen or implied deaths, one or two deaths for each segment and episode from Treehouse III-XXXI, and the most memorable ones included (I.e. "You killed the Zombie Flanders").
