Is that a joke though? What does it actually mean? Does that mean that Mr. Burns is coincidentally selling his soul to the devil on the same exact day in his 100 year life that Homer did? Or does it mean that Mr. Burns has frequent meetings with the devil? If so, then why didn't he recognize him immediately and need Smithers to tell him who he was? I mean thats kinda normal for many Devil charatcers, they will tell you (usually more exatly then vaguely) what the consequences of of the deal will be and give you the choice of acepting it... usually they never force you to take the deal but will offer it when your most vulnerable... if you refuse, they back off, if you accept they are chill, if you find a loop hole, well your kinda doomed now since its a waiting game till you die.

Man in its heyday The Simpsons was one of the most well written TV shows around. I haven’t watched this episode in years but can still remember every scene. These early seasons have stood the test of time.

i remember back when i was a kid the simpsons halloween special was an event u just couldnt miss. intros were always creative and the storys were just dark enough to stay on air which is saying something because back then the FCC was pretty strict.
