Hi all. If youre like me and just getting back into the sims 3 and want to download cc, this program is the best to use for sure. If your cc is not showing up make sure to enable your folders on the configuration tab and then click rebuild. Took me forever to figure this out lol.

It's literally crazy how cc magic helps with loading time. When I first installed new building cc my game loaded for like half an hour. And after I used cc magic to install the cc the game took only a few minutes to load. It helps a lot!!!

Can I still use CC magic on cc that I've already used to build houses with? I mean, will the game still recognize the files after they are compressed or converted to .package or will everything be replaced by default stuff?

Anyone who finds that this isn't working, there is one step that was forgotten. Any new set that you create it disabled. You have to go to config, enabled the sets, then rebuild.

CC Magic >>>>>>>>> S3PE I previously used S3PE and while it was straightforward, there was a LOT of manual labor involved and time wasted where I could be playing instead. CC also failed to show up even when I followed guidelines of what not to merge, 200MB limit, less than 100 in a merge limit... so frustrating. I just tried out CC Magic today and I cut down probably 75% of my time! Everything was so easy to organize, it pointed out what kind of CC it is so I can further organize it (I found object files in my hairs folder, random tuning files, etc.), and everything showed up! (Or at least I think, the stuff that was missing from my S3PE mergers were there at least). CAS runs so much better now, 50-60% faster overall. My hairs just loaded near instantly and I could scroll fast. Not so much for clothing, probably a 40% speed up. Still amazing. I don't dread the aftermath of going nuts on CC Shopping anymore lol.

I love this tutorial! You labeled everything and described everything perfectly thank you so much! I've been wanting to try CC Magic forever but I thought it was way too complicated lol I just have one question, if I have put merged CC files in CC Magic, will everything in the merged file still show up in game? I hope that made sense XD

So I finally got the hang of CC Magic, it took me all day to finish going through my cc, but when i hit the play button it opens the sims 3 launcher and when i play it from there, none of my cc shows up..? I know its me doing something super obvious wrong but I can't figure it out for the life of me. Do I have to have my cc in the mods folder and cc magic at the same time maybe? I'm just so lost I cant figure it out lol please help!

I just installed this and every time i try to launch it from cc magic it crashes, I even deleted all of the cc that i had put into it and it still crashes when i try to launch??

So I downloaded CC Magic and when I press play the application crashes and my content does not appear in the game... I forgot to back up my files and even though they weren't a lot I'm still bummed and about to uninstall this program! so someone please help.

I just tried to extract a lot from s3pk and pulled the files into dashboard and none of the items are labeled LOT. The lot is Chic Modern and I got it from Sims resource from a featured creator. Any idea what to do when no file is labeled LOT? I had a houseboat do this too, so I figured it was a houseboat quirk so I went to the Chic Modern expecting to see a LOT but, no such thing in there.

Works with the mods by Nraas? and the sets of the store, lots appear / install in the game? [if I leave it in .sims3pack format]. Or if I leave a lot in .sims3pack, appears in the game? The world of store? I turn them into package and searched for the content of the world? I understand that it compresses the packages, and the sims3pack? Is it better to convert everything to package? [Sorry, I can't speak English very well orz]

can i use cc magic to put tiles/walls into the game or do I install those normally through sims 3 launcher. I saw something about cc magic not being able to handle patterns. Do walls and flooring count as that?

I got CC Magic the other day and this tutorial really helped. I sorted all my cc into folders then closed it. I remembered i forgot to click Rebuild, so I went back onto CC Magic and clicked it then let it run. I shut my computer down, then when i went onto it then next day, it wouldn't open at all, I also tried to open The Sims 3, the launcher came up then i clicked play. It disappeared as if the game was going to start but it went back to origin. I really love the sims so any help would be appreciated.

But once you put all your cc in the cc magic, does yours also disappear from you downloads and mods folder? After i move everything, its only viewable from cc magic, not anywhere else.. and if I delete something from there, does it also remove it from my game for me or how would i go about doing that?

Yes. This is how it's supposed to work :) You can delete it from CC Magic directly or from Documents>CC Magic>Content>Packages

This decision is up to you! Personally I only merge cc with CC Magic not any gameplay mods

I understand how to install the world's and where to place them but what do I do with store CC because I have brought a few items and I don't want to use the launcher because you know it tends to get funny with a bunch of CC installed through it.

Hello! Thanks for making this video, I wanted to try this program out, because I think all the cc is what's slowing down my game. I followed the steps in your tutorial but one doesn't work for me: After you converted the packs to package files and dragged them to "Downloads" inside the Sims3 folder you reopen CC Magic and it loads the items. That doesn't happen for me. It does when I just put the pack files (unconverted) in my download folder and hit rebuild but then they don't show up in my game, so that doesn't work either. Do you have any idea what I could be doing wrong? (or anyone else, for that matter. Feel free to respond as well haha) I ticked the little box in the MultiPackInstaller like you said. I spent the last 2 afternoons reading up on everything to make my game run smoothly aka fixing all the errors in EA's programming so at least I seem to have that under control now. But I don't wanna play without cc bc the stuff that's already in the game is super boring to look at.

Omg, I didn't expect you to answer so soon, thx so much for taking the time! Yeah I probably should've explained what I did, sorry. Maybe i understood something wrong? I have all my downloads (packs) in a separate folder. Then i use the multiInstaller to convert the pack files to package files and drag these to "Die Sims 3" --> Downloads. When i open CC Magic they should be able to be imported but that doesn't happen. It's like the folder is empty. Another thing probably worth noting is that I play with the german client, but when I installed CCMagic and it created new folders it did so in english. Now I have 2 big folders, one called "Die Sims 3" (the usual directory) and "The Sims 3" with just 3 subfolders. Maybe that's the problem? I hope you understand what I mean, english is not my first language.

can you sort preexisting cc in your mods folder into cc magic? i have a lot of package files but i also have preexisting merged files from a different program on a different attempt to make my game faster. i’m assuming i can add the cc i already have, it will just take me longer to sort it, lol.

Okay, I have what is probably a super stupid question but here goes: I already have all my CC converted into .package files. When I start CC magic, under Legacy, all my CC shows up there. Do I take the CC I already have (that's showing up in the legacy folder) and place it into the various folders I made under default and then delete the legacy stuff?

Once you merge with S3PE, you cannot unmerge.

I realize this answer may no longer be relevant to you but you have to hold down your mouse button while you hit ctrl-A to select all, and then drag the lot to your destination. If at any time you release your mouse button, it will revert to only selecting a single file. I lost a few hours this way until I figured it out.

Hey!! So I use CC Magic and every piece of CC is in my game, usable, perfect. My only problem is it completely messed up pose player! Before it was working perfectly, I could select a pose from the list an my sims went into them, now? I press select pose from list and my sim resets and I get script error from error trap. I go to type poses in by name and the sim glitches into a weird position... I have been trying to fix it for days, finding no help with google. I uninstalled pose player and reinstalled it, moved it back to my mods folder with all my poses, deleted all my cache, removed recently downloaded poses in case that was the problem but nothing as worked... I really want to use CC Magic because I have over 700 pieces of CC and it's helped reduce game lag SO much, but I worry if I can't find a solution I'll have to uninstall it.

Ok so after reinstalling CC Magic (I got really frustrated and uninstalled it) I put pose player and all the poses I wanted to use in my normal mods folder and it won't work anymore...

Hey, super late. I just saw this video. I have been fighting too. It wasn't loading them into the game even after rebuild. I just found that, under the config tab, there are enabled and disabled sets. Any new set you create is disabled and you have to move them over. After moving them to enabled sets, rebuild and it works like "magic" ;)
