The timelapse story of future gaming starts when artificial intelligence takes over building the games for players - while they play them. And human brains are mapped by virtual reality headsets.
This artificial intelligence sci fi documentary also covers A.I. npc characters, Metaverse scoreboards, brain to computer chips and gaming, Elon Musk and Neuralink, and the simulation hypothesis.
Taking inspiration from the likes of Westworld, Ready Player One, Squid Game, and Inception.

The fact of the matter is that you're not really allowed to think outside the box, and if you are. People will Ignore you. What you're talking about is the so-called Saturn moon matrix. Now the only thing you would need to believe in this theory, is an expanding of your intelligence/consciousness, that it itself is evidence of there being "more",,,, Now its well known we're all been dumbed down not only from before and currently with fear, as DNA is adapti.... ok nvm lol

We will be cyborgs, and as Elon says, we basically already are due to carrying all the information in the world in our pocket at all times. You're also forgetting AI will basically be doing everything for us... AI will be inventing and improving everything, humans will just be like the hot front desk person while the smart people at Nasa do their thing.

@@carloscalipsis If you're actually implying things will basically remain the same, except everyone being out of jobs because AI took them over... well... lol.. I suggest you go a little deeper into it. A universal basic income I imagine is inevitable. The reason it isn't really feasible right now is because of the same reason socialism/communism isn't feasible. If there is no reason to get a job and contribute to society, a lot of people won't get a job. If there is no reason to innovate, people won't innovate. If there is no reason to do better at your job, people will do the minimum, etc etc etc. That all changes with AI. You may see this as a bad future, but it's the only future our species has any chance of a future. It may lead to Terminators judgement day, or a bunch of useless fat fucks like in Wall-E, but at least we'll be alive longer... The alternative is we don't grow past Earth or our solar system, and we all kill eachother in WW3 or WW4.

Amazing! However, I don't think it's necessary an accurate prediction. Sure, there are many people who'd love it to lose themselves into gaming worlds, maybe the majority. However, people like me, who are interested in science and studying the real world, would use brain-machine interfaces to learn information in an accelerated way and have access to vast amounts of data, impossible for a regular human to read or watch. Also, the games and AI will always be dependent on some actual physical substrate in the real world and vulnerable to natural disasters. That's why if AI and humans want to survive, we need to forever keep improving our science and technology in the real world. Finally, we might transfer our minds into the digital worlds and not need our human bodies anymore. But even then, scientists will probably use quantum computers as our minds and keep learning more about the real universe and advancing science.

I think it's more feasible that characters won't be individual AI minds, rather there will be a director AI who simulates it all; playing actors for all of them. This is because you want the world to be able to change and adapt based on actions of the player. They all will need to "talk" to each other. A new character won't have a backstory until you ask it, or it has to be revealed. Just like the world generates in bits as you explore, so does characters stories and personalities. Things that the AI first generates for a character that hasn't yet been revealed to the player can also then be over written if it suits a change the player made or the world. For example, if the player is roleplaying and tells a character about how he fought in the war between humans and orcs a decade ago; the character can then reply about how he also fought in that war; him being over written as the world had no info of this war earlier, and so the AI director will construct this backstory into the world itself.

Awesome video. I would like to have seen more about the expanse of Human's into space. I envision this as being something that could be a real experience for a long term ship leaving our solar system and going to another system where the trip might be hundreds of years or more. I think once AI has reached a certain point, it will be what helps humans to actually leave the Earth and begin populating the Galaxy. As such, I don't envision Earth being a healthy place to have it all evolve. I just feel there are too many factions (Religious for example) that would fight this no mind how bad the planet is or might be doing Ecologically. I do however envision it happening with humans that might be put into some soft of Suspended Animation for a crazy long journey to another world or Galaxy.

AI has the potential to make video games indistinguishable from reality, since it learns and then copies or extrapolates everything with such precision, from behaviors to looks to anything. And paradoxically the game worlds being built as people are playing them sounds a lot like our reality too especially after scientists found that local realism is false.

This was a great and scary video, the minds who thought about all this are very creative, let's see how accurate the prophecies were, for someone who grew up with pacman I'm definitely starting to see what the future looks like and wow, totally unbelievable, even more unbelievable but ever more credible is the fact we're already in a simulation so this woud all just be another level of simulation within a simulation ;) It's simulations all the way down as someone said.

With temporal dilation, should it be possible, you will get your centuries of development within in-sim labs working on advancements, spending 100 years in the span of months. Or with a billion such labs all iterating off of each other and sharing data instantly populated by both humans and AI assistants that are, themselves, self iterating in improvement. Once you top the hill of Artificial intelligence, acceleration only continues straight through the roof.

this is mindblowing... i feel, and surely everybody else feels this way but doesnt know how to word it exact like myself, incredibly blessed and thankful but also scared to be born in exactly this age of time. considering millions of humans and animals have lived their whole lifes in different time ages, fighting the threats and problems in life that were around at that time. now think about the chances of YOU within YOUR conscious experience being born at just this time where technological invention has come to this point, of hyperrealism indifferent from reality, hurting humanity in a way different and unique way than it ever has before. this video is just a prediction of what will happen but i'm certain all of this will come to reality. maybe the timeline won't be identical, but this is going to happen in this century.

I HAVE SAID THIS EXACT THING SO MANY TIMES !!! Are we really just THAT LUCKY that by pure coincidence we are living in this exact day in age? @@laurencrawford20 well in a way but then theres no such thing as fate, were an incredibly special and super meaningful generation for sure. and there was just the same chance being born now, as being born in the middle age suffering from a terrible disease, or a caveman fighting the laws of nature, but instead we comfortably get to sit at home and falsely boost our neural reward&happiness system with the technology thats gonna kill us in less than a hundred years. Despite this still everyone complains about life 😆

It's a wonderful progression. AI2P + AI2AI for in-game and real-time robotics. The progression is clear. However, one must understand the implants or cosmetic enhancements will be regulated, and most likely restricted to adult age. Whereas, non-intrusive body suits or accessories will be available for all, to provide the equivalent emergence, such as without direct connection. Cults are a factor of lifestyle (exploit). Coma inducement or spinal treatment will most likely, be seen to regulate individual blocks on gaming servers, worldwide. Medical treatment is the exception made.

I'm not trolling, but am genuinely curious: why capitalize "simulation"? Is it like underlining a word for you, maybe? Did you not even think about it? Perhaps a kind of protest-intentional, or not-against sensical punctuation? Is it related to your not using a full stop as well?

Is reality a simulation? Excellent presentation, you have spent some money! It leads where I like to go myself quite often - stages of evolution, humans becoming AI and turning into some other form of matter, simulation theory.. All computer games in the future will be united into one giant gaming map, from MFS 2022 to COD, from action games to Minecraft, they will be played simultaneously in one Universe. You could take an airplane in Microsoft Flight Simulator and fly over Call OF Duty battlefield.

I suspect this list is a little over-optimistic on developmental sophistication. It'll probably be close to 2030 before we have first attempts at chatbot integration into games with deepfake voice acting for loosely scripted AI managed characters with more depth than we've seen before. Games are, however stage sets designed to tell a story, so, there will be a generalized script appropriate for the game setting and characters. It'll be closer to 2035 before we see subtatial AI-managed game development. For now, we still have procedural generation for some things in games and even that's controversial and described as "an ocean a mile wide and an inch deep". There's technologies like chatbots, and deepfake that CAN be used to create realistic characters in games but, it's not really being done yet. With how long the development cycle is with games where the big splash games typically take about 5 years to make, I suspect we'll see a more conservative progression of developmental sophistication employed than what's illustrated above. We've had chatbots since the 90s and those can gotten progressively ever more sophisticated with AI development, but, as long as we've had that resource, it's yet to find any significant employment in games. Many other things illustrated here look like the jetpacks and flying cars predictions that have forever been trope of "what we'll have in the future", and while jetpacks and flying cars are indeed technically possible and a thing now days ... I don't have either, and I'd wager almost no one does other than those with significant enough bank accounts that can burn $ without blinking. Haptic suits for virtual worlds and other stuff is fun to think about, but, what would the price tag on those be? Motion Capture suits can cost tens of thousands of $, and those don't even have haptic feedback. As such, there's much described here that's interesting, but, overly optimistic for when we'll see any significant employment enough that we can milestone a date on when X happened. It'll likely be late 2040s before we start seeing labor costs start to drop and be impacted by automation technologies in sectors like game development. ... but, agree, disagree, whichever ... we'll see eventually. :)
