29:34- New York didn't hear "THE SIX SHOOTER" on Thursdays [8:30pm(et)] starting on April 1, 1954- because WNBC-AM pre-empted it for an hour-long local music and interview show, "MEET ME AT KAY'S", featuring Kay Armen and comedian Louis Nye (it also pre-empted "TRUTH OR CONSEQUENCES", which followed)....because WNBC-AM could sell more local commercials during that program than carrying the sustaining network shows scheduled. In a way, it was the beginning of the end for traditional network radio shows in prime-time. Without New York, "THE SIX SHOOTER" was as good as cancelled that June.

Great background, thanks! I’ll have to look this show up in a book I have called “The Big Broadcast.” I think I was born about 20 years too late, so am catching up on all these shows now.
