@evelovescats893

@@gypsysnickerdoodle4354 I’ve been both poor and middle class during different times. I would say that even poor families could have a hoarding problem. In fact I thing it gets even worse if you have been poor before because it makes you really think of the value of the dollar so whenever you do have some stuff albeit useless you feel guilty parting with it because “hey that’s worth good money”. I’ve noticed people from upper classes don’t have as much of a hoarding problem because they tend to get rid of stuff a lot to make room for their new lavish things and it doesn’t hurt their soul to get rid of stuff that was once worth something like it does for people who have struggled. I have to admit that I really struggle to get rid of stuff especially because I have been poor before. Does that make sense? I understand though that the term “middle class hoarding” might come off as insensitive but I feel that a lot of middle class families are that way because they were once poor. If you watch the show hoarders you would see that most of the people are either poor or middle class. Hoarding often stems from having a money insecurity of some sort and having all those items gives you a sense of security that even if you were to have no money at least you saved everything just in case.

So true. Personally I just keep my nails short with no polish or anything. But if people enjoy manicured nails then they should do what they like. From experience many people do find beauty in being natural as well as done up so no point in doing it for others just do it for yourself.

Hi girl. Precaution advice from a girl with a genetic factor that makes her prone to infection and bacterial skin infection … Be ultra careful when transferring your prescription creams into a separate container. They are formulated at the pharmacy to be stored in the like, the metal type tubie thingies. With the air seal proof caps … So, in my non prof. opinion, yet from personal experience in my own life. … It is much MUCH easier for bacteria from the environment to enter into the cream when transferring it. For most folks that their immune system and skin barrier kill the bacteria regularly. They do not need to worry. But …well for others with an auto immune issue or genetics that make those issues WAY more likely. Wammo. Strep in a night prep. Sorry for bad rhyme. Lol. You the best girl. Keep swimming. holding on to things, while often good for the environment and cost effective, is something the younger generation can't really do since most of us don't own our own homes which means we move often. Most of us also live in smaller places than our parents did. I had to learn this the hard way when I moved out. I wanted to hold on to everything that I could potentially upcycle but I just don't have the space and move way to often to justify having several boxes of junk that might come in handy someday.

The Body Shop started as an MLM in the US, but its origins are not MLM. Anita Roddick started in a small shop in Brighton UK in 1976. It was one of the first eco conscious and ethical brands. The brand went downhill when it was sold to L'Oreal, it's a real shame as the founder was knighted for her ethical practices including ethical supply chain and worker rights.

I can 100% relate with you on the family hoarding, my mother especially has struggled with this, as a kid I never really understood it I always thought it was exciting to have so many random little things and I enjoyed shopping with her because it was like christmas to me. As I've grown and now currently in my early 20s I now see how frustrating it is, she has purchased so many random things with very little thought put behind them, we have 5 junk rooms that are filled with random things that we have collected from old outdated electronics, VHS's, furniture, blankets (oh my god we have so many), boxes, and the list goes on and on. We have donated several garbage bags full of random things but still my mother struggles with getting rid of majority of the items we have hoarded. I feel really bad because I know the consumerism in our society has only made people who struggle with hoarding so much worse. It has made me much more mindful of purchases and I have marie kondo'd my living space and I try to be more minimal in my living as well.

The e.l.f. Superhydrate and gel version of the Holy Hydration daily moisturizer aren't just great on their own. I use them to make the antioxidant actives from the ordinary sock in more effectively, as well as anything that seems to have an oiler texture. I am also super excited about the Pure Skin line. I noticed in my never-ending pursuit to finding the right hand sanitizer that doesn’t cause me sensory issues, that the ones with a more complex ingredient list/has a bunch of moisturizing stuff are the ones that’s gum up or cause stickiness. I find that if I just use simple sanitizer, let it do its job and dry and use a simple hand lotion, I’m golden. No extra dry hands. It’s like 50-in-1 mens body wash: you’re trying to do too much at once and it needs to go.

Even if it's a 10 dollar top at Target I will turn it inside out, wash it in cold water with vegan unscented detergent and then hang it up in my bathroom to dry. It's my therapy actually. Definitely to each their own. I love your videos. Don't ever stop. You are amazing!

Cassandra, this video was so enjoyable, so fun, so full of good info, so humorous, so... EVERYTHING!! I just shared it with my sister and my daughter! My 2022 goals are similar, to rid my space of clutter. I strongly identify with what you shared about middle class over consumption growing up, that I still have 2 jars of miscellaneous buttons that go back to probably before I was born (I'm 66, and they're some leftover sewing remnants that had belonged to my great aunt, who was born in 1890! I don't even sew! 😂) Although my parents lived through the Great Depression, they wanted to make sure their 6 children had no shortage of anything, and we didn't. I have, however, taken it to a level of near hoarding, especially skincare and makeup products. Well, my New Year's resolution was to stop buying, and happy to say I'm doing great and not missing all that stressful and oftentimes guilt-inducing spending either. And, the ripple effect is awesome, I'm feeling energized and in control. I used to overbuy books too (and have so many books it's ridiculous), but now I use the library exclusively and feel so good about that. Love, happiness, good health and prosperity to you in 2022, Cassandra, and to all those who read this! ❤️

As far as lathering up bars of shampoo or any other soap really, look into the Japanese style foam nets. They make an unbelievable amount of suds very quickly, (you squeeze the suds off of the net and then use the suds to wash yourself, you don't really use the net directly to wash yourself)

oh no!!! Cassandra, please..... we LOVE the plain aluminum packaging. Maybe they don't look pretty but so easy to recycle comparing to plastic, and actually more expensive and offer additional barrier resistance for products. Please do not promote plastic and pretty over-packaging, please! Not good for the planet.

Also, they shouldn’t be rusting like that if they’re stored properly??? Like those are designed to be stable for like two years iirc? I’ve never seen that with ANY of my prescription tubes, and some are definitely approaching the two year mark since I don’t need the really heavy duty steroids except in emergencies 👀

@@sunscreenhoarder6558 I never had any problem with rusting tubes either, I don't let my products sit on a wet counter. I feel like it would be full of bacteria. Another reason why I like aluminum tubes is that I can tell how much product I have left in the tube, versus, in plastic, you can't really tell, and you can't really get the end of the product out. I despise plastic in ever way.

I agree with the nails thing. I used to groom dogs professionally for over 10 years and over the years have had to fire several groomers for not doing a good job. One thing most of them had in common was long/fake nails. You can't groom a dog thoroughly with nails on. If your groomer has long nails, find another groomer fast! Your hands are supposed to scrub the doggies coat in the bath, and blow dry the dog and brusing etc.. along with the actual clipping, so that is all nail unfriendly things to do. That's today's tip lol. Oh, and if your dog looks good, please tip your groomer and tip big because they do more for your dog than your hair dresser does for you. You hair dresser doesn't do your nails, and clean out your ears and pulling the hair out of your ears and shaving the pads of your feet out and the dreaded cleaning the anal gland. On the other hand, if your groomer doesn't do this, then find another groomer!

I have been lucky enough to try many of the ordinary products and I am so glad I have used the one specific active. It has given me amazing information for what actives I want in my skincare but its products that have many ingredients and not just one. So I do have my favorite products from the ordinary that I have repurchased because I have a lot of allergies and it allowed me to limit my exposure to certain ingredients in mixed products.

Dude!! It's super common to lose toenails: we wear it as a badge of honour. Every marathon or Ironman, a few soldiers will be lost. My personal record is 5 1/2 toenails from one race (the 1/2 was tricky). My November race has only had 2 casualties so far but one more is on it's way out. It's winter so, other than swim workouts, no one can tell what's going on under the layers of boots and socks. Keep running!!

To get the most out of your aluminum tretinoin containers you just need to get a professional tool that is used by hairdressers. It's a little key like item that's metal you put it on the end of your tube and you roll it and it rolls very tight to get out the product so you get everything out they use it on hair dyes in the same types of tubes. As far as preventing them from getting yucky and corroding there's really not much you can do except keep them out of the water. Hope that helps and I absolutely have watched I think everyone of your videos from the time you began and you have been such an inspiration in my life as my skin has changed and my mind has changed as well ❤️

Hei just an evironmentalist here ahah I just wanted to say that refill is the future! I've tried many shampoo bars and I felt the same as you about them... they just didn't work for me, but there are many refillable and eco-friendly products out there! I really reccomend aromatica's shampoos (they're a bit expensive but I use their shampoo as a pre-cleanse once or twice a week and then I mainly use my regular SLS-free shampoo from my local refill store). I have hormonal issues and after stopping my birth control I experienced my hair was falling off and constantly very greasy. Aromatica's scalp scaling shampoo is just amazing! In one application I saw results, my hair are way better now. I also heard good things about the tea tree shampoo but it wasn't available in Italy. Btw, they really care about the planet and even though they still have a long way to go, they now source their ingredients responsably and they offer refill pouches for their 100% recycled plastic bottles. Love their effort! Anyway, love you cassandra!

I actually worked for The Body Shop back in 2017-2018. I loved everything they stood for and they helped me with creating a skincare routine. I remember one day I was working and I had a customer tell me that she remembered a time when someone she knew would throw house parties to sell Body Shop products. At the time, I didn't know what an MLM was and I remember my mom going to parties like that (it was usually some lady from my church that hosted them to sell candles or something lol.) Now I know what an MLM is and I thought maybe it was something The Body Shop did back in the day, but to hear that they still do it is really disappointing. To be honest though, when I worked with the company, the management was extremely shady. Our manager and District Manager always hired family or people that they personally knew to work in our store, which made a lot of the other workers very uncomfortable. That was the reason I left because I didn't want to accidently be in the middle of something gone wrong. Needless to say I probably won't be buying from them anymore either, though I have plenty of products from there to last another lifetime lol.

Wow. So on point. I have and always have had the hardest time throwing stuff out that’s still useful. Fr story of my life. To the point where I feel like I have to eat everything bc I can’t “waste” anything. My dad was a steal worker and my mom was a teacher and that’s just how I grew up. I had to laugh out loud about the examples bc they were so true. What about having a “junk drawer” ?? But I have way more stuff than I need and end up hoarding alot of stuff-mostly clothes and book, and of course skincare. But yeah man, the struggle is real. Thanks for this video it inspires me to work on that. Couples questions: I’m on Tretinoin and have been loving it since I got put on it about a year ago. Do you prefer tazorac and if so why? Also, what do you think of high frequency? We’re learning about it in esthetician school but I don’t always trust everything they teach bc I’ve heard dermatologist’s have conflicting options about some stuff. Lastly, what vitamin c’s would you recommend with actual effective versions of vitamin c that don’t pill up or leave a yellowy tint? uuugh! Thanks. I get the acrylic nails thing too. I love the look of them but they’ve always gotten in the way when hand sewing and embroidering and even sewing on a machine and once I start working as an esti I’m pretty sure that’s a definite now. Adore you. Thanks for your knowledge always.

As a first generation American, I am literally THIS, and you just helped me feel so seen and make even more sense of it. My husband comes from a different background and is always gently teasing me how many things I keep - yet I’m baffled at how much he tosses! If I don’t finish a drink, for goodness sakes, I’ll put it back in the fridge to finish tomorrow… I keep all the IKEA tools, despite him imploring me that we don’t need them 😂 I think I lost track of the fact I got these traits from my family, who reuses jam jars to store nails and has held onto a biscuit tin for the last 20+ years to store tea in! Thank you for waking me up, haha. I love that we’ve been taught this by our hardworking families who traveled far and gave up much, but thank you for reminding me of the balance that can be struck.

cassandra, i know hair loss is not from a singular cause, but may i suggest a few things that i'm finding some success with? i've tried these 3 products all on their own and found success, so now i combine these 3 (on top of dietary and other supplement recommendations from my doc and derm like vitamin d and iron for deficiencies and low-glycemic for pcos). -nutrafol supplements. i know you're vegan and cruelty free though (nutrafol contains marine collagen), so my alternative recs would be: halo beauty HSN or moon juice superhair supplements (saw palmetto, pumpkin seed, horesetail, ashwagandha [not in halo]). -maya chia powerfol hair treatment. i feel like i see hair regrowth with this. i use it damp hair after i wash it. -pacifica scalp love rosemary serum: studies show rosemary can help with hair growth. can't say for sure yet, but i feel like since using this, my extreme shedding has slowed down and my scalp feels much more balanced in regards to sebum production. i use this on second day hair before going to sleep. i am also waiting to try another hair serum and prose shampoo/conditioner, but i'm waiting until i finish one of the above serums, so i don't confuse the results. hope this helps!

Apparently generation’s of people using solid soap have found that to achieve the best lather one must use a corse fiber cloth bag. It is game changing when you use it the first time. Also amazing the bag helps with storing the shampoo without a mess. Just put it on a hook in the shower.
