Tom, just found your Channel yesterday and am enjoying your videos. I own a Zenith CruZer but looked at the Bushcat at Deland in November. I really like the cabin layout especially the armrest throttle setup.

Yes, I love the armrest throttle too. It hugs your body and makes the throttle feel a part of you. Ergonomically speaking, the bushcat fits like a glove.

Appreciate the update summary of Bushcat new changes. This is my first time to notice the deletion of "tail fin" and new changes on the "tails" between the older and Bushcat Tom's new version. I am also interested to know any performance and flying characteristic change or improvement, if any, after the new modifications. As usual, love Tom's drecting, acting and humorous "foreplay" of every episode!
@bushcattom4 жыл бұрын
From what I've learned about the new modifications, the new tail gives the Bushcat even better stability and greater rudder authority. And you won't run out of elevator on slow landings. The new elevator trim tab is, indeed, sensitive. But the upshot is you could fly and land the plane using only trim and rudder if, say, your stick ever goes out.
@bing43424 жыл бұрын
@@bushcattom Tom, thanks for your reply. I have gone through all Bushcat videos on KZfaq and noticed that the Bushcat has been improved with new features in last few years, such as hand parking break. But there are no such videos or pictures for those new development and features, including the SkyReach website. Additionally ther are no many Bushcat demo fly videos. I hope you will do some of demo flying with your Bushcat, taking off, landing, STOL, low and slow and manuvering in backcountry flying! Your video is the best. I am thinking to build one because of yournvedios. Look forwarding to seeing you flying the black cat!

@@bing4342 Oh yes, I have big plans for flying videos once I finally get my Bushcat in the air. It has been difficult waiting, but I must be patient. My plane will be wired up for multiple cameras (right now I'm thinking about six of them). For the time being I'm doing build videos, but eventually we're going to transition into all my flying adventures. Thanks for watching. We'll keep the videos coming. As for the latest improvements, along with a parking brake, my Bushcat will also feature toe brakes which will be much better than the current handbrake most Bushcats have. Also the new Bushcats have a wider "bubble" door giving me nearly 2 extra inches of elbow room on each side of an already wide cabin. My plane will also be fitted with cabin heat and also cabin lighting.

question: does this plane have a spot for like a backpack or a very small carry on, if so, where is it?
@bushcattom2 жыл бұрын
Yes. There are two baggage compartments. One is high behind the seats and within reach of the occupants. Pretty roomy too with a max about 50lbs. The second larger compartment is behind the fuel tank with access from the fuselage. 40lbs max for that one. Plenty of room for camping gear and such. The BushCat can haul a lot of stuff.

@@nathangreer8219 Yes, I looked into the Kitfox as well--for a full size person like myself at 225lb the useful load was not very useful. So far the only downside to the Bushcat is that I will still have to wait for mine until July.

@@nathangreer8219 its very very spacious inside and extremely comfortable with an arm rest that has the throttle at the front but there are a couple of cons well things i dont like.storage spot is a bit wanting you can't really fit much,the doors dont lift up with a arm like the kitfox you have hold it up while clammer out of it then take a bracing stick and click it into the door and on the trut a problem they can't seem to solve the past 16years,its also high off the ground so getting in and out if you are older could be a challenge,the trilam covering is not as durable as they say you might get 5 years but there might be people who have had it last longer.in very hot climates the fabric starts to dull and crack then eventually peel off but these are the things they don't tell you but good to know to make an informed decision.every aircraft has its issues
