You know I’m obsessed with national teams, but what national team is actually the smallest national team in the world? In FIFA, not quite, that would be too easy. We need the smallest national team representing a nation on the planet and boy have we found it. How about a country that only has a permanent population of two people?
That is a correct statement. I won’t tell you the name of the country because come on you have to watch the video for that, but their national team is perhaps the weirdest story you’ve ever hear and they play some truly bizarre teams as well. But, they have played, a lot actually, and could be playing again soon!

I suggest you look into a Brazilian team named Santa Cruz FC. Previously had its glory days but now is in Fourth (and last) Division, not playing any national division unless it is promoted, and risking bankruptcy. Oh, and I forgot to mention this team still fills up its stadium with 50k people even in Fourth Division. I figure its an interesting read and good story to tell.

The thing about it is pirate radio stations is not without precedent in international waters in england. we've been doing it a long time. on a simpler note - zealand supporting sealnd? that can't be a coincidence lol

An interesting story linked to Sealand. The only team Sealand have beaten twice is alderney fc, alderny being a small island in the English Channel who compete in a competition called the murrati every year. And they've been on a losing streak in said competition for over 100 years! Their last win was in the year 1920, since then they've lost every year.

I went to see them play Chagos Islands in 2014, at Godalming Town. They won 4-2. Ralf Little played for them. They had a bloke dressed as a seal as mascot. Surreal afternoon...

Mate, that Sealand fish and chips shop you show has nothing to do with Sealand the principality. Its on Sealand Road in Chester, i used to go there walking down to Chester City games (the team you said you never heard of when doing the Roberto Martinez video, cheers for that lol).

For anyone interested: It's common place in Australian sports to have teams from our Kiwi brothers competing in our sports comps, especially the Rugby codes. In football, It only really became an issue when Australia joined the Asian confederation, Sadly not being able to qualify for Asian football makes Wellington a poor choice for a long save in FM IMO, Once you've won the A-league there is nothing else to achieve. Wellington/NZ national team duo is a bit of fun though.

My favourite team in Sealand is North Sea United and they've been the champion of 25 out of 40 seasons. They also won the last season of Sealand Premiership. Better than Man City.

I saw this pop up on my home feed... i love Zealand. However i can literally see Sealand from the end of my road (i live 100 meters from the beach of Felixstowe. Which was one of the highlighted closest places to there👀)(i can 90% of the time take a pic of the country) It's a strange story but it still makes me laugh that Sealand has a national team. I love seeing videos of Sealand. And seeing Zealand making a video of a team, from a country 6 miles away from me. It's another video to show people who don't know Sealand, that it exists)

Funnily enough Germany actually recognises Sealand as an actual nation and has sent diplomats in the past, pretty sure they are the only actual nation(not another micro-nation) that does

You should make a video about fc groningen. It's the the club i support and they got relegated this season with still 4 games to play😢😢😢. It's something nobody saw coming at the start of the season. Because they are ranked around 7th place if you look at the finances from all the clubs in the netherlands Edit: forgot to say. We play such terrible football this whole season long without the players fighting for fit(that's how it seems to me) that we pretty much deserve it. Also there are contionously problems at the club, the list is to long to summarize for a f*cking season...

@@mattsmith5421 Sending a diplomat there to negotiate a release doesn't automatically mean that it is recognised as a nation. I used to work in the foreign services and such stories are actually quite common where someone would lay claim over a large land or island and then proclaim sovereignty and ask for recognition from other nations or international bodies.
