This song becomes even more magical because of the guitar intertwining, just hearing those guitar sounds matching with each other at some point are so satisfying. I would say it is the core of the song basically.

that's so cool it reminds me of the kind of guitar intertwining king crimson did a lot in the 80s in songs like frame by frame ^^ Jonny is such a brilliant composer and masters the odd time signatures and polyrhythms so nicely

Taka, you are the beast that gives us some amazing guitar parts while The Smile's still working on the album! This is cool as hell, and some of the best Radiohead playing I've seen. Can't wait to see you and Joe make more covers!

@@FluffyMomo do you know ‘row row row your boat’? It’s a song where one person starts and then other people come in at different stages, singing the same phrase until the whole thing is kind of a syncopated mash up and then it finishes when the last person to come in completes the phrase. This part from Skrting On The Surface is kind of the guitar equivalent of that……I think, at least 😊
this sounds exactly like jonny how in the world did you figure this out

Johnny does all this with just a simple loop? Or is it a couple of loops? I don't hear where the loop(s) start and stop. I think I need a whole visual guide to understand this song. It's so amazing sounding though! Good job.
@FluffyMomo2 жыл бұрын
The looping chords are just three(Dm C, and Bb). He starts the recording when Thom's start singing "Ahhhh".
@RubenSansaRivero17 күн бұрын
@@FluffyMomo ok so the right video is just the "loop" and the left its played diferent (faster?) it can be played with normal loop or it has to be the headrush one? Thanks
@FluffyMomo2 күн бұрын
@@RubenSansaRivero This video is a reproducing of the studio version. On the studio version, they're overdubbing the guitars without Headrush. If you want to reproduce it with a Looper, you only record 3 measures with 11/16 notes, They play the 3 measures with 10/16 notes over it.
