What an amazing artistic spectacle! What a band, crafted songs brilliantly played with a totally original front man. Mesmerising jingly jangly guirar over pulsating shimmering drums and bass.

This lyrical genius can't be matched...I love this song because everything is just insinuated, the real substance is left out...Morrissey's lyrical talent is all about the ellipsis, what's skipped over and left out...there was another great English writer who was also all about what "wasn't said", but I won't name him....

@youbestbequiet No, they are not second to Pink Floyd at all :) I don't even like Pink Floyd, there was a period of my life I tried so hard to get into them but failed utterly, the only band I think is better then The Smiths personally is Radiohead but The Smiths are my favourite still by a long shot
