Probably the best song they wrote in terms of words. They do indeed tease torment and tantalise and tread the margins between love / control and a darker side. I take it as a father who loves their child in a possessive way

@@Springheeledjim5 I think there was talk of Brian Jones's haircut as well. In terms of cool, there's not much to choose between Sutcliffe and Jones. So Marr had great taste!

true the smiths had an underrated rhythm section, everyone always talks about the guitar/vocals which are great but w/o the rhythm section is equally if not more important to my ears as it allows morrisey and marr to float
