The Solar System with an amateur telescope

Жыл бұрынThe Sun is the central star of our Solar System. In this video we see images taken with amateur telescope Celestron 8 of the Sun, planets, asteroids and comets. At the end also atmospheric phenomena are presented. For comparison also images by NASA and ESA space crafts are shown.
I have taken these images in this video during years 2012-2022 in Kirkkonummi, Finland. Telescope Celestron 8 and Cameras Canon Eos 60Da and 80Da.

Great transits of Mercury, not an easy thing to get. Same for Venus, I find a #11 light yellow/green filter can bring out the clouds on Venus, but you need a sharp view. My 6" reflector has had the primary refigured to 1/12th wave and near perfect focus and it brings Venus in very clear using an ED eyepiece at 98x and dark skies. Hopefully the stratosphere's wind are calmed down, if not you have to see through too much of the atmosphere and getting a sharp picture just isn't possible.

Awesome video! Wait, so it's possible to capture pluto with an 8 inch scope?! Should i buy that one next, or is it better of i get something bigger, like 10 inch?
