We talk about the sophists, the power of arguments to shape truth and how they were the first to question the relationship between society and the natural order.

I never knew there was so much known about the Sophists. They're ideas seem to anticipate Enlightenment and modern philosophy in some ways. The Foot certainly seems to enjoy that glass of red wine.

He sure does.🙂 Yeah, there are early traces of modern political philosophy (e.g. Hobbes, Rousseau) in the sophists, such as the idea of natural law.

I personally stand with plato and socrates on this one, these people are a great danger to society and the future of humanity.. Today we have way too many sophist fools. About power, people with great wisdom deserve power, but power should at the same time always be questioned on its legitimacy.

We should have put the Sophists on the pedestal of western culture, if only because they were strong enough to know their own immorality. Plato couldn't have dreamed of the strength required for such things.

I guess it’s crazy that I had same grandiose concepts like the sophist so I guess I am one of them lol. If I say I made argument about libertarianism and put up against a form of government like a civilian dictatorship ex: romans then this will be a great debate to hear

If you think you are intelligible and resourceful in life or have a high IQ; ask yourself are you impeding others by lacking respectable high fashion, artistic ability, physical fitness, and refined - exciting diction (social charisma)? Are you a leader and not a sheep?

I turned 40 this year and I started to realise most famous thinkers are idiots. But I guess they are also geniusses, and they were helicopters, because it's all just relative.
