The mayors don't "sell out" to developers, individual property owners do, many of whom are just regular working families who built up a business over generations through hard work and sweat. And why? Cause they've made the neighborhood safer, and better, and more appealing, thus more people wanna go there. Now property values are higher, they sell, and more to another neighborhood. Neighborhoods sell themselves out! Stop whining!
