What I wouldn't give to have this damn show back. I can't stress enough how great the voice actor of this Spiderman is. Josh Keaton better be back for next year's cartoon.

I love this series so much, they captured Spidey's sense of humor, and Peter Parker's civilian life to perfection! Josh Keaton is my favorite Spider-Man ever!

Spectacular Spider Man was the best animated spider man show ever yet. There were many reasons why 1) Spider Man in his own universe, which means there were no other characters in the MCU involved unlike Ultimate Spideman. 2) The voice acting was perfect for the characters and spider man voiced by Josh Keaton one of the best voice actors I've know not just for spider man 3) The show felt like it wasn't made for kids too, because of the thrill, suspense and action shown into this show. This show also felt serious. 4) The storyline was really good, because it shows how Parker can also struggle with his life by also being a hero and a student at the same. Any more reasons reply I'd be happy to know.

They don't make animated shows like this anymore, that's for certain, especially when it comes to action cartoons and animated shows based on comic books. Spectacular Spider Man was basically what would have been to Marvel as Batman: The Animated Series was to DC, in which we had a great show that was for all ages with great characters, memorable stories, took themselves seriously and never talked down to the audience. It's just a shame it was so short-lived, but that was because of legal entanglements, and to be fair, both Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes and Wolverine and the X-Men, two Marvel shows that aired around the same time as SSM, were also both cancelled for similar reasons. Ultimate Spider Man, on the other hand, is nothing but a 22 minute toy commercial akin to a typical 80's cartoon, and while there are things I do like about USM, it's nothing like what fans wanted, since what many fans wanted was a worthy successor to SSM, and that was what I wanted USM to be, and I was so excited for USM when it was announced, but then it premiered, and I was so underwhelmed and disappointed. I mean, I understand it wants to be different and stick out from previous Spidey shows, often it comes off as them not understanding the characters and prioritizing toy sales over all else. This is pretty much my problem with Marvel's animation currently, and the reason USM, Avengers Assemble, and the other Marvel shows are so heavily criticized is because ever since the Disney buyout, Marvel's been prioritizing the Cinematic Universe over everything else, and it shows with their animated shows, which try too hard to replicate the MCU and fail to do so, which causes the shows to suffer an identity crisis in which they are unable to stand on their own. Don't get me wrong, I love the MCU as much as many others do, but I do feel it's harming their animation department. Will there be another good Marvel cartoon like Spectacular was? Eventually there will, but given the way things are going in their animation department, it probably won't be any time soon. It has been announced that there will be a new Spider Man animated series that will premiere late next year, but will it be any good? Only time will tell...

Gwen Stacey was more of a great friend but in a relationship perspective I think I wanted either Liz Allan and Mary Jane to be with Peter (more towards Liz) because the way her character developed into a great and more open character as well as loving Peter. Like I even had a feeling during the times where she was with flash; she developed feelings for Peter. I was actually really annoyed that they broke up and wanted at least a reunion between the two (either as a couple or just great friends) but sadly that didn't happen. Gwen however irritated me by leaving Peter all alone near the end of the episode as she couldn't break up with Harry. Apparently in season 3 he reveals his identity to Liz after saving her from the scorpion (it would have been interesting to see how that went) but overall I wanted them to contradict the comics for once and make them two together. Btw I really preferred this design of Liz compared to any other series and comics; she looked really cool and hot XD!

Bringing back spectacular will never happen unfortunately. Disney is in official development of a reboot in 2017. Let's just hope they star capturing the original source material of the spiderman comics, movies, including this show in particular.

I love the simplistic style so freaking much.

This series also has a lot of references to the Sam Rami Spider-Man movies. A lot of shots are recreated, dialogue from the movies are sprinkled through out, and sometimes scenes are partly recreated. a lot of peters backstory when he's fighting the symbiote is directly taken from the first movie. Its really cool to see if you love the Sam Rami trilogy like I do. He even stops a truck the same way he stops the train in Spider-Man 2

Personally I've never minded the weird ass artstyle. Sure it's janky looking, especially for an action Marvel/D.C. Cartoon. But I honestly think that makes it stand out. And by personal preferences the artstyle doesn't look that bad. The simplisticness also works because it makes good animation easier and less stiff. These fight scenes are amongst some of my favorites in t.v. animation. I admire Spectacular Spidey for its fugliness.

I never did really get into Spectacular Spider-Man that much, although I did enjoy it when I was watching it before. I mainly grew up watching the 90s Spider-Man animated series back then.

*WELL DONE!* Now to me personally, I say the show's visual look and simplistic character designs are *one* of the show's biggest strengths. I find them very appealing, and they work together well to tell the bigger, overarching story season to season. But that's just me. Pretty much a lot what you said here I agree with. :)
