The Spirit of Banffshire 🤩
Working in collaboration with the Lord Lieutenant of Banffshire, Professor Peter Reid and the Doric Board, we have created a short film which captures the Spirit of Banff and the surrounding Shire.
It acts as celebratory piece to mark the platinum Jubilee of HM the Queen and as a marketing tool for the Lord Lieutenant's recent book release!
We have been overwhelmed by the amount of support and positive feedback from this video:
"The end result is absolutely magnificent and utterly entrancing. A project of this kind really matters because, if done well, it moves people who have a connection to the place in a deeply emotional, visceral way; and 'Spirit of Banffshire' is done very, very well."

Thanks for making this. I just found out through Family Search that my husband and I are 12th cousins. Most people seem to be 12th cousins when they are from the same nations, lol. But I looked up where our common ancestors were from and it was Banff and Banffshire Scotland, so this lovely video kind of shows us what their lives looked like, and what the areas they met in and lived and worked in looked like. Thank you for making this!!

Through genealogy records, I have recently discovered that my Great (x5) Grandfather, James Howat was born in Tom More, Banffshire, Scotland. And his wife, Margaret Symon was born in Grange, Perthshire, Scotland.

Hey there, it's called Women's Land Army Scotland Memorial (also known as "the lands girls gate") found in Clochan, Buckie, Scotland 😊
