From the beginning, Split-Fire’s 2-way log splitters were manufactured with safety and productivity as its #1 priority. Many of the components that make these 2-way wood splitters special are unique to the Split-Fire brand and set it apart from its competitors.
Customers know that by choosing a Split-Fire they are purchasing a quality built, safe machine that will last a lifetime.
2-WAY SPLITTING ACTION: Split-Fire is the original manufacturer of the 2-way split design. Conventional 1-way log splitters typically see a push plate fitted to the end of a hydraulics cylinder. In this case the push plate will split a log around a knife fitted to the end of the beam, causing the plate to then need to cycle back to the start position. Split-Fire’s 2-way design has the hydraulic cylinder fitted inside a steel frame with the knife protruding up between 2 “V” shaped log stops. This design ensures the knife is always in the splitting position, removing the time wasted during the return cycle.
“V” SHAPED LOG STOP: Split-Fire utilizes their revolutionary “V” shaped log stop design. This design promotes increased safety and maximizes a machines tonnage force during the splitting action. With the conventional flat plate design the 20-30 tons of splitting force is being pushed through the log onto the flat plate, cause it to direct back on to the knife preventing it from splitting easily, wasting tonnage.
Split-Fire’s “V” shaped design has the knife focusing the tonnage onto the center of the log causing it to effortlessly split around the stop and preventing dangerous flyouts.
The “V” shaped design also reduces the hazard associated with the surface area of the push plate. A standard 6” x 6” push plate has 36” of surface area which is protentional space the operator could be caught and injured in. The “V” shaped stop only has 6” of surface area (6” tall x 1” wide). This design reduces the hazardous area by 600%.
QUALITY-BUILT DESIGN: Split-Fire log splitters have been designed and engineered over the past 35 years to provide the best 2-way log splitter on the market. Every wood splitter and hydraulic cylinder are built in-house using only high-quality North American steel and components. Through this Split-Fire has earned a reputation as a low maintenance, long last machine that will last a lifetime.
CUSTOM OPTIONS: Split-Fire prides itself on offering a wide range of custom options, allowing the operator the ability to design a splitter that will match their exact splitting requirements. Available custom options included extended stroke lengths, engine upgrades, knife extensions, hydraulic log lifters, raised bed high and oversized tires.
In choosing a Split-Fire log splitter, you are choosing quality. That quality does come at a cost, but that cost is outweighed by the return on investment (ROI) through the productivity and lifespan of the machine.

My tractor rear mounted Split-Fire Splitter is the single best implement on my property. Over 20 years old and never a problem. As I age (82) it gets more important every year. Thanks for the great value.

You should hinge the lower part of the log lifter so you can't smash your toes. Other than that, I love the concept.

Hi i would like to know how your box section compares in strength to the traditional i beam ?
@SplitFireSalesInc
@SplitFireSalesInc 4 жыл бұрын
@Ish Ure In the case of our 2-way log splitter design the box beam is the most appropriate choice for the reason of its' rigidity, or resistance to twisting or sectional warping (due to torsional loading) - which we further circumvent efficiently by re-inforcing the box beam with the integration of our 2-way hydraulic cylinder 'inside' the box beam itself. It's due to this feature, and other innovations including the use of low friction polymers (UHMW) for the knife slider, and "V" shaped log stops (allow log to disperse energy around stop) that we make full use of the available power / splitting force (regardless of engine size). It's these and other friction reduction engineering attributes that distinguish Split-Fire log splitters in the marketplace. For more info on I-beams versus box beam please visit wikipedia: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I-beam "...though I-beams are excellent for unidirectional bending in a plane parallel to the web, they do not perform as well in bidirectional bending. These beams also show little resistance to twisting and undergo sectional warping under torsional loading. For torsion dominated problems, box beams and other types of stiff sections are used in preference to the I-beam."

should have a higher GPM pump to set it apart from the box store splitters. cycle time is too slow.
@SplitFireSalesInc
@SplitFireSalesInc 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comment, a typical box store splitter’s 1-way cycle is 11 seconds. Ours is 10 seconds total, meaning 5 seconds on each stroke. The 2-way stroke essentially doubles your speed.

I love your product but at double the average cost for something say bought at canadian tire or home depot .. its just not worth that much extra.. how about offering it with a no engine option . or as a complete kit to save yourself some production costs and allow the mechanical savvy homeowner an opportunity to save a bunch of money and have fun building it

@fingers967 Thank you for your feedback! This year we released the SPLIT-FIRE 2265 and 2255 models, featuring either a Honda GX engine, or a more cost-effective Kohler engine option. These engine-powered log splitters are available now for less than $3,000; and that's for a machine that is designed to last for decades to come. Our premium product is built to outperform given the 2-Way log splitting action we innovated over 35 years ago (which doubles the users productivity by 2x). Don't take our word for it, please see our Testimonials website to read and view what others say about their experience with our products and our company: www.split-fire.com/testimonials/

@@SplitFireSalesInc That really doesnt answer my question .. theres no doubt that your product is good .. Im asking if youd be willing to sell it as a kit with a no engine option to allow me to save alot of the cost and put it together here at home.. with no engine and no assembly on your part .. the cost should be under 2000 canadian.. THAT I would buy into right away. as it is, there are many other options that are more cost effective.. they may not be as fast or last as long ,but they will get the job done

We do not offer a kit presently. Our 3-point hitch machines start at $1,457 $CDN - and you could convert that to an engine powered machine by adding the hydraulic and power components, and an engine yourself. Please feel free to give us a call to discuss at 877-548-3473 or 519-468-3647 - Thank you!

Lets see it split some knotty post oak or knotty American elm; not that red hearted cedar elm. We don't have wood that splits like pine.

Cycle time. Way to slow
@SplitFireSalesInc
@SplitFireSalesInc Жыл бұрын
Thanks For your comment! Our cycle time is is right in with our fastest competition. If speed is your only concern, the Eastonmade Ultra has a cycle time of 4 seconds, and Split-Fires 2265 averages 3.75 seconds. Keeping in mind that these are hydraulic log splitters. Feel free to point me in the direction of a similar machine with a faster cycle time!

Your still bending over to load a log. How about putting standard 15"-16" rims so it can travel safely @ 55mph. The two way I'm not sure if u want or can operate cutting both ways w/out getting confused in a 4 way cut. When speed gets 2b the focus u look for options that might not be maintaining safety first. If u have to pay for every single attachment the base price is only 70% of actual cost. I would like to know how many have flipped there splitter while trying to raise a 300lb butt end 30" oak cut? The width is not that great. Watching it operate I didn't c anything that sets it apart from many other $3k+ machines other than it can cut vertical. I would prefer seeing wood splitters that are 10 years old or older & are still manufactured today.

If you have anything less then a firewood processor, you will have to handle the rounds in some sort of way. Either with a tractor, pickaroon, or by hand. As for the wheels size, our heavy hub/wheel setup are used on trailers all around north America. They are safe for up to 75 mph, and have rim sizes from 8"-13". Here is a video with a 13" rim setup and a fast 4-way split (high-flow kit): kzfaq.info/get/bejne/n9yRh5Z53JrToKs.html Yes that is correct. That is very common for many different manufactures, not limited to wood splitters. Some manufactures have options that go beyond the price of the base unit. Lifting capacity depends on bed height and wheel option speced with the machine. Again, visit the video above to see some bigger rounds getting lifted with on of our machines, or view this video of our smallest 2-way splitter lifting some larger logs: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/n6p4drGJrd24e58.html What sets them apart from a tractor supply log splitter? -Heavy duty construction -Very reliable engine options -Faster cycle times, and no waiting for wedge to retract. -Replaceable friction components (Slide pads last on average 12 years) -Safer design to minimize the opportunity for kickouts and less surface area for pinch points -Engine location is not in a high risk zone (cannot drop logs on engine from splitting bed
