Oh lord i'm a none farmer and I can not begin to count the hours that you put in to your equipment repair, not to mention maintenance. We or I usually think that the most work of the farmer is getting seeds, getting crops in, fertilizing and harvesting and selling your crops. Watching your videos make me realize that there is a whole hell of a lot more to farming than "farming". I cant imagine all of the farmers out there who have call repair people with problems like this. I guess they either learn to weld, be a heavy machine mechanics and all of the other stuff that you have educated me on about farming or they have to find a new vocation. Thanks.

More to farming than most believe, tis why a lot of people aren't "cut out" to be farmers. Farmers = jack of all trades and a master of all of them.

The synchronizers control the rolling/clutched shift of 2 to 3 and 3 to 2. It's the same as shifting from 2nd to 5th or 5th to 2nd with a 4020. When you shift Ranges, you are not affecting the topshaft, only the bottom shaft. The symptom of failed synchronizers would be grinding when you shift from 2 to 3 or 3 to 2. When they come apart, you cannot shift from 2 to 3 or 3 to 2 as the components will be "locked." Your tractor probably wasn't grinding with this shift, but, as you explained in your video, soon would be. Hope this helps.

I remember splitting our 3010 because of the pto pin what a sucker to split my dad didn't trust the stands so we used heavy cribbing block regular 8 speed so no synchronisers and the sync's are why i like ford just a regular 8 speed dont have to split it for stuff like that John Deeres arn't bad but had some dumb ideas just like ford and id never own an international because of the TA anyhow Great Video like all the rest keep them up

Wes.... just a thought...... if you have one place where you do most of your work, why not try and hang your lights around that area so you dont have to worry about where they are positioned, they will be shining down from above you to light the entire area up.

I think you would lose 2 and 3 gear because that's what two gears the synchros are used on the thing actually power shifts every time you go from 2 to 3 also. Lots going on in there all at once. Nice vid

We have a track on the floor with an adjustable stand that ride on the rails you put the stand under the engine and push it its a realy easy way of splitting your tractor

I hope that bits of synchros didn't get fed thru the hydraulic pump , and that's what is causing your problems . Case MX series tractors have a habit of feeding brake linings thru the pump at around 5000hrs so if you don't change the brake linings you will be going for a more expensive replacement of a hydraulic pump. We know this from experience.
