That ski jump was so spectacular that the guy who did it, Rick Sylvester, even gets a nod in the credits. Probably the only time that's ever happened, stuntmen never get that kind of recognition.
@clintonearlwalker2 жыл бұрын
That ski jump was spectacular back in 1977, people jump off mountains and buildings with parachutes all the time now, but no one expected it in 1977. I would guess that stuntmen get mentioned in credits occasionally, (but I can't think of any). I was a projectionist at a drive in and I've seen a LOT of movies.

Nobody Does it Better is such a gorgeous song, but I have always thought the version used in the actual film over the opening titles, ie this one, has an extra magic about it that the version released on record lacks. @@DarkTider They don't even feel like James Bond. Craig's take on the character became utterly grotesque, blank, wooden, always miserable, stiff, angry and plain nasty and unlikeable. And that relationship with Madeleine was so forced it practically broke the fourth wall! It's just total dross modern day fanboy Hollywood writing at it's worst. Pretentious to boot which makes it even worse than just a plain bad Bond movie imo.

This movie must have been incredible when it dropped in theaters, and it has aged like Dom Perignon. That opening scene is truly quintessential BOND: sex, guns, and high-speed skiing hijinx on a snowy cliffside. Add THAT jump as the cherry on top, then bam, right into Nobody Does it Better.
