M4 is a high alloy steel, and S30V is a stainless. So M4 is a high edge retention, high toughness, low corrosion resistant steel. S30V is a high edge retention, low toughness, high corrosion resistant steel.

Yes, all steels are compromises. Not really, when you use it, wipe it clean, when you store it keep it oiled.@@flhandster4395

Thank you good Sir. Well i guess it comes down to, what you use it for. its definetely not meant to be an edc user, i think. At least not for tasks that require an ergonomic handle.

For EDC it´s not that great therefore. But the boxiness helps with the edge alignment, which makes it a better tactical knife

Some people modify the handle to make it more comfortable. I personally feel it's a dedicated defensive blade due to how fine the tip is. I would not use it for an EDC.

I saw those same reviews about how the ginger grooves are not set up right...... Then I bought one and realized for my self that if you are holding it in your regular fist grip then yes, wrong position..... But once you grab it for a forward thrust or slash you realize that they are meant to constrict your to front fingers and 2 back fingers in such a way that they lock the knife properly into the right position.

I’d take a $120 made in USA para 3 lw over my cold steel ad-10 or ad-15. Way better ergonomics and doesn’t feel like a cinder block in my pocket

Try pawn shops, usually if there's a really good knife in a pawn shops they're generally Spyderco or flea markets, I've gotten most of my Spydercos in pawn shops or flea markets less than half price.

Your loss. Spyderco makes great blades! I like Cold Steel too but Spyderco is on another level.

Even though I just bought the Yojumbo at Blade Show Texas which by the way took me ALL day to talk myself into because I waited on it a year since there were none at BLADE show 2023 or on line, then my stomach was in knots for a while from forking up full price plus thay had gone up. Look, I agree with you, I can understand some of them being higher priced like the Yojumbo but when they make a knife like the micro jumbo that made from ALL the same materials and is 1/3 the size and nearly the same price as the biggest brother and more than the original, it's beyond me why, I don't get it. BUT, they do make some very cool knives. It's rare I pay full price like that for a knife that price. Here's the secret to buying those kinds of knives if you like to collect and use or just collect, check pawn shops, flea markets and if they're not wiped out because of the loophole law, GUN SHOWS. THAT'S where I get most of mine, generally if there's a really good knife at a pawn shop it's Spyderco, I get them half price or less and most of the higher priced knives are new never been used or very lightly used, I got the Spyderco CIVILIAN for $80 , it looked like it was probably used ONCE and got rid of because they either used it for a throwing knife or a pry bar because about 1/16" of the tip was broke off, no biggie, made a new tip, if you didn't know the knife you wouldn't know, it's $265 new, think I made a pretty good haul. If they look like they've been through hell and back I pass them up. I've saved hundreds of dollars this way, COLD STEEL knives too. Try it, if you're close, check them regularly especially if they have a decent hunting section with plenty of guns, those are the best. Take my word for it you won't regret it, just be patient.
