Well fun fact about the Mall Of America, it sits on the grounds of what used to be Metropolitan Stadium which was home to the Twins and Vikings until 1981. They have a marker of home plate used to be and a few other markers in the mall. US Bank Stadium also sits on the grounds where the old Metrodome used to be.

Not too far from there in Bloomington was the Met Center. Though it had a few different sports teams used it over the years, its main tenant was the NHL's Minnesota North Stars, who used it from 1967 to 1993. There's an IKEA store on one part of the property, while another is an overflow lot for Mall of America, and American Boulevard was rerouted through another part.

Also, Xcel Energy Center took the place of the St. Paul Civic Center, famed for its clear dasher boards when it hosted the Minnesota Fighting Saints of the World Hockey Association and the Minnesota high school hockey tournament. A nearby smaller arena, Roy Wilkins Auditorium, had been a precursor of the Civic Center with more space than today.

It’s funny, the twin cities actually have both an MLB team and a Triple A baseball team. The St. Paul Saints stadium only holds around 7,000 though

The Houston Astros/Sugar Land Space Cowboys and the Atlanta Braves/Gwinnett Stripers are similar setups to the Twins/Saints. Houston and Sugar Land are only about 22 miles apart, and Atlanta and Gwinnett play about 35 miles apart. If Major League Baseball expands to Salt Lake (or if the Athletics relocate there) we may have another one with the Bees scheduled to move to a new stadium in Daybreak. There is also the potential of Las Vegas and Summerlin both having teams.

I feel like the Armory deserved an honorable mention. It might be a concert venue these days, but it did serve the Lakers in the 50s before they moved to LA.

As someone who grew up in Southern California, I have to say I love living in Minnesota. I went to my first Twins game in 2012. I started working up here in 2016, then moved up here permanently in 2021. I’ve been to a few of those places. US Bank Stadium is nice. I’ve been there for both football games and concerts.

Another feature about Williams Arena is that it was split between hockey on one side and basketball on the other. The seats in the basketball court over hanged the ice rink. A wall separated the two venues.

Xcel Energy Center sits on the site of the former St. Paul Civic Center, which opened during the 1972-73 hockey season and was home to the Minnesota Fighting Saints of the World Hockey Association. Its most intriguing feature was clear “boards” that were installed because the first row of seats ranged from a couple to several feet away from the ice. In later years, those boards were replaced with standard fiberglass boards. The SPCC was demolished to make way for the larger Xcel Center.

Please do a video on the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area. Home to 7.3 million and most likely the greatest number of stadiums in Canada. It would be great to have a Canadian City be featured and as much as it pains me to say this being from Western Canada, it should be the Toronto area.

I gather that you were implying that the Huntington Bank future expansion would take place by filling in the gap, but it is actually built so that they could add a 30,000 seat third deck from the press box all the way around to where the stands currently end and the gap would remain.

Most of these are great! My favourite has to be Williams Arena because I'm a sucker for old buildings! Anybody live in Minnesota please tell me the difference between Minneapolis and St. Paul? Are their different demographics, different social classes (like is one working class the other middle), cultures etc. I always thought of them as the same place one giant city but now I'm curious to learn the truth!

both cities are divided by the Mississippi River, one on the west the other on the east. St Paul is the state's capital, but apart from that i honestly don't know of any demographic or social differences between the two. i don't live in the cities but i personally prefer St Paul as i think its a nicer city.

When you make the stadiums of Philadelphia video, can you mention Stephen A. Schwarzman Stadium? It's home to my high school's rival team, the Abington Senior High School Ghosts. Stephen A. Schwarzman is president and CEO of Blackstone and he gave a donation to improve the stadium. It has a fascinating brick exterior, one of it's kind in Suburban 1 football, I know how much you love bricks. It's under capacity requirements though. Also mention Atco Raceway. It closed up last year, I believe it still remains. It had stands with a good capacity.

@@neilwhitaker6284Texas and OU shouldn’t be included in my opinion since he included them in his SEC ranking video. He should however include Colorado, Utah, Arizona, and Arizona State since they will all be joining the conference as Texas and OU leaves. That being said Folsom field of CU will probably be ranked very high, as he has covered the stadium numerous times in the past, and it is quite stunning. Hoping for the video come July when all the moves happen.

not me, I just rolled my eyes. The idea of total and complete "equality" is a religion and an exhausting one at that.
