Hey Daniel and Bianca. Great to see the new set up and looking forward to seeing the new build. BUT... if you don't put in your K mart stone vinyl benchtops in the new kitchen - I think I might have the leave the channel. That is the Legacy of Explor Bound. We (kids and I) are really looking forward to seeing the new build and adventures...with the vinyl stone kitchen benchtop... Hopefully. Looking forward to maybe seeing Bianca do some awesome crazy bushdoof lighting bling. Keep up the great work with the way you explain everthing; you must have been a tortured teacher in a past life.

Haha funnily enough, I came home the other day to see Bianca had bought a few roles of Kmart vinyl (the exact same as before), so chances are the new benches will end up covered once again. 😂 Thank you for the kind words also!!

I have to say this. So many of the products in the 4wd industry are so expensive and outdated from the second they leave the showroom floor. They're often designed to be as bulky and clunky as possible in an effort to look "tough and hard wearing". Every brand new canopy sold today has those ugly T style compression latches. I think central locking in canopies only became a thing around 6-7 years ago from memory. Central locking has been in cars since the 70s and slam shut doors, well since the first passenger car 😅 Those slam style latches do away with compression locks and a neatly tied together central locking system makes this canopy so well designed and engineered. The handles are so sleek, very professional and look so sophisticated. It makes closing a canopy that much easier. Wish more products in the industry would do things like this and steer away from the ugly bulky designs they're doing these days.

I'm really envious of your central locking feature. I have 6 locks on my canopy (and a 7th for the tail gate) and have to get really Zen to go through the process of securing what's in there. Yep, there's plenty of options available but now that it's what I have, I'll live with it and spend my $$$ on going away. Looking forward to seeing what you'll come up with.

I’m keen to see what you do. I want to do a canopy on my 2015 DMax, but have zero need for a tray. Currently run a 35 Engel and 3 x 1300 drawers, I want to go to an upright , pantry, and drawer for coffee machine etc , plus a drawer on the drivers side for tools, spares etc. a large flat area for swag, stretcher, rifle bags is a huge bonus.

The new canopy is a winner, I have been holding off with their older series as I didn't really like the need to put a tray down, then not being able to use the tray if the canopy was removed as you couldn't fit sides to the tray !!! definitely much neater than the older series, Price has increased significantly, but I guess now it includes an inbuilt tray which you would have required for the older series if you had a chassis setup, Auto locking is a big winner, as is the side mounting locking mechanisms and central locking, some serious thought has gone into this one from MRT, MRT if you're reading, with the lighting a Warm / Red light would be better than a warm / cool, the Red helps keep insects away, I would ditch the warm / cool one supplied and replace with a white / red aftermarket version, can't work out from their website if the undermount storage comes with the canopy, the pic shows them but nothing on the website about them 👌👌

Keen to see what you do. Saving up for the excat setup you have. Took a look at the showroom in Perth and 4wd show. Don't think there is better bang for buck quality wise. They now do dog boxes/compartments which i will get for a wet/dirty storage area. My only negative is they need to offer water tank options. I reckon you should go for a combined pantry and table, gas cooker combo, have a look at DMW pantry mk 2.

Like Bianca I’m height challenged but happy to be closer to the ground (we have a better centre of gravity than tall people like my 6’ 4” female twin who’s called the Amazon Women) - I wasn’t prepared to pay a lot of money for a fridge drop slide and the weight penalty of an extra 40+ kilos so like Bianca’s current solution I also stand on a stool - I will keep the lift off canopy as I need the vehicle for normal farming duties with the tray/drop sides but looks like Christmas 2024 has come before Easter for you Daniel so enjoy the new project - I presume you’ll keep as much of your previous equipment except fridge for the new installation? - I’m now at stage four (three years now) with the Hilux adding water systems, fully enclosed shower and air compressor.

Definitely not wrong, rear layout was carefully chosen. I’ll be adding an accessory to the RHS in the near future which will weigh equal to the spare for a balanced weight. Regarding internal weight, I expect the RHS to be the heavier side anyway, given that will contain tool/spare/camping storage together with all additional bits we bring (chairs, tables etc).
