MrRoflWaffles i have a question about samantha maxis

Story wise I think the stories have been bad since the end of bo2. I’m not a fan of these gods and aliens. I liked it more when it was secret research facilities and the nazis using 115 to win the war. And with story telling I like bo3’s cutscene but the mystery of waw to bo2 was what pulled me in. Not when it’s all just fed to you

That’s how it works for most one-off games but with cod it’s different. Bo3 wasn’t a brand new experience that was milked after, it was the 4th zombies by trayarch and was still outsold by bo1. The biggest issue that is affecting zombies is the devs just not getting enough time to make their games. Both Cold War and vanguard were insanely rushed whereas bo3 got a full 2.5 years of dev time. Hopefully if the devs actually get dev time we’ll see zombies quality improve

Just look at how the storyline was concluded. I actually had a lot of fun with BO4 until Tag. When it was revealed they defunded the game for the sake of having another fcking cod the following year, so the zombies team had to half ass a remake for the finale of this 10yo storyline, that’s when I checked out from zombies completely. Not only has activision lost respect for their franchise by releasing the same copy paste crap every year, but they’ve also lost the little bit of respect they had for their devs too. I suppose that’s bound to happen when u have a fanbase that gladly accepts minimum quality tho.

@@iysaw wdym? Bo4 and Cold War were both great games they just had issues (more so in Cold War) primarily caused by the shortened dev times along with other circumstances

@@megashock1319 it lacked perks and had a lot of glitches, hence people never gave it a try. Imo Black Ops 3 was better though.

My major issue with the game, it being finished or not, is the same that i have with Cold War. It feels so... Warzone, and tbf, i hate playing Battle Royales or having their feeling. IDK why, i can't play a normal game that feels like FORTNITE or WARZONE. It sucks

Kino gets mindnumbingly boring after round 20-25. Disagree entirely. Vanguard sucks, but Cold war is incredible despite the changes it made to the formula.

True to be honest. I seen how cod zombies has been going on downward spiral. Black ops 4 was the start. Cold was mixture. Vanguard is a dumpster.

I personally don't like die rise I would have rather transit or farm even but man I would take bo2 die rise over any cold war/vangaurd/bo4 map

@@willaka12 I do have the entire franchise and have watched countless videos explaining the story. I was so shocked but also impressed at the amount of depth to the zombies storylines and the amount of lore. I cant think of another game to rival its universes. I just haven't yet played through those Easter eggs yet.

Old zombies had best ambience and is very hardcore. 2 hits is all it takes to send you back to the lobby. I wish we could go back to those days. No idea why Treyarch think changing the core formulae is the good idea. Bf2042 is a good example

@@corndrinker map isn't everything to me. I liked the maps, but absolutely hated all the systems, progression, and just the way matches played out in general. Even down to the movement for me. BO3 is still the best feeling to play to me.

Just reinstalled it haven’t played any dlc and loving it idk why I got dark ether and Ig I got bored but this is rlly fun love firebase Z and forsaken is the best map so fire but I always get blue screen’s on that map idk why like every game I can’t even play it

Completely agree why call them an Easter egg if theyre not hidden black ops one was my personal favourite you’re forced to do them now and if you don’t you can’t get to high rounds and it’s all just tedious steps. Not to mention the story is completely ridiculous now

I say every time I get into a new zombies I wish there was a game that used the Cold War system that remastered every single map and was just a zombies only game, dedicated to the MASSIVE fan base. Kinda crazy they don’t do it.

Bo4 was still good cuz the Aether story was continuing, aside from the Chaos story (Nine, Voyage of Despair, etc) which I didn’t care. The thing I hated the most is how Blood of the Dead had an amazing intro cinematic and Easter egg ending, whereas all other maps weren’t cinematic but rather comic book style. For the ending of Aether story, truly disappointing how they couldn’t make cinematic endings and intros

Ikr? What I don’t like about Cold War zombies was the operators. They were so uninteresting to play as. Just operators from multiplayer with no connection to the story is just bad. Even tho they added Samantha Maxis as a operator character but she was also boring af to play as. They should bring back new 4 cast of characters as playables. Which I’m hopping they will for next Treyarch game in 2023. I think it would awesome to see Eddie Richthofen and his requiem crew as playable characters.

@@Napzie they're so lifeless, it's hard to feel invested in the story when the people on the map are throwaway nothings or 4 of the same character that are saving the character they are playing as, so janky düd. I was so into the story until the characters changed to operators now I literally have no interest in the story whatsoever. I've only played vanguard zombies once and whilst I enjoyed the gameplay of Cold War, the maps are so lifeless, you just think, why are these characters here what are they fighting for, there's nothing on the line and no gripping cutscenes around characters we have grown to be attached to.

I think them building upon Outbreak would have been a great idea. As great as round based maps are, we've had them for SO many years now. Variety is good

@@Malam_NightYoru as a lifelong hardcore zombies player, outbreak is so. boring. i do NOT want some boring open world with repetitive challenges and no real direction or pacing. if you leave it up to me i’ll just skip all the side content and keep moving up the rounds. and then it’s just completing the exact same thing over and over until it’s too hard rather than trying until you complete the challenge and then move on to another. its literally like playing dead ops arcade.

I’d say wait for fixes and changes before you buy it or wait for a sale. Vanguard is really buggy rn. The campaign is ok but multiplayer and zombies are the only ones that can be unplayable sometimes.

Speaking of trying hard there was also opportunities for that in Cold War. We’re the maps the best ever… NO (bo3, bo2, bo1 had some of the best maps in the franchise). I agree, bo4 wasn't perfect but despite the game being fixed after launch not many of the creators really gave it any credit. Despite all the content such as the completely new idea of gauntlets nobody really cared. Also with such top tier maps just being ignored by the creators because the perk system and gameplay wasn't perfect That's why it felt like such a slap in the face when Cold war dropped with so little content and relieved so little content that it was praised so much. Imagine working on bo4 and having the balls to create new story with different themes and have some top tier maps just for it to be trashed and then two years later you make a game with a forced shitty continuation of the already concluded story and making some of the most bland maps ever made and its praised, as a dev why would you bother to put in work anymore when the community is so inconsistent with what they want

Its good because its fucking awesome. If BO4 was just as awesome there wouldnt be any doubts

@@Lynch2507 The devs behind bo4 were told by Activision that they were allowed to have 2 season passes for zombies, they were going to make 4 maps for chaos in the first and 4 for aethor in the second. Then Activision pushed the games release a month earlier than usual which meant the game was buggy at release from the lack of polish. After the buggy launch Activision told the devs they weren't allowed a second season and they had to finish aethor in this game. At this point they had almost finished dead of the night and were working on ancient evil and the other two chaos maps but had little to nothing on the aethor maps because they were under the impression they would of had at least another year of time. Along with this devs were being pulled from the team to make blackout. This explains why the conclusion of aethor was so abrupt as it was literally just thrown together. I know none of the development is the creators fault but I think just clearing up the development of the game is nice as the devs were literally set up to fail

Agreed. You can tell by just the storyline and the map quality that Treyarch just knew exactly what they were doing and knew exactly what people needed. It was just amazing. People may argue that the gumballs made the game too easy, but honestly I kind of found that balance where yes you can now get to higher rounds, but they aren't like these super op items that can just carry you through the game.
