I like the angel idea. The reason he couldn't control his devil gene is because he hated his father and he couldn't control his rage. But now his mother is back as his guiding light so maybe the reason he can control it now is because he feels love again.

I love DJ so much, I can’t imagine a Tekken without him since he’s been my main from T5. I cannot wait for his announcement so i can pre-order the game.

I think the scene where he’s falling in the water is a “interior dimension” of Jin, like Naruto with Kurama. There are the 2 stages (that looks like distorted version of Yakushima) in Raven trailer that could confirm that idea: the dark one with the giant demon hand and the “underworld” with elements of T6 Jin’s throne chamber (his evil side) and the light one with the chains (his curse) and the ghost of Jin mumbling (ttt opening) and Jun walking around (I think she could be a spirit more than an alive person though)

in the beta there's a trench coat option for the avatar customization, that is very similar to what devil jin is wearing in his character icon, but what really says it's devils jin's coat is the red shirt that goes with it has chains around it. (this is me coping and praying my main is in the game btw)

leaks had it, dvj is in the roster it has to be him, reason why he has missing features like the horns probably because its a half transformation or its cuz jin has full control of it

These are definitely valid points, where I was also considering a lot of these things too, with how Devil Jin’s inclusion seems likely to me as well. Surrounding the dynamic of both Jin and Devil Jin, it would make the most sense to include him in this instalment too. In Tekken 5, where Jin was considerably more of a lawfully good character, a lot of emphasis was put on Devil Jin, due to it showcasing a darker take on Jin in comparison. Where he appeared the game’s intro, was made a sub-boss, and appeared in 3 other endings outside of his own. But with T6, Devil Jin fell more into obscurity, where having Jin himself become considerably more villainous became a priority instead. Such as how he stole Devil Jin’s “Fear the wrath of god” intro line, or how he uses devil powers on multiple occasions without having so much as facial markings. So with Jin having much more of a face-turn in T8, that works to make Devil Jin and his personality more pronounced. More evidence for his inclusion involves how in an interview much earlier on, when discussing characters that should be considered for T8’s roster, Micheal Murray did mention how he “Always loved the character of Devil Jin” when he came up. There’s also this last point, when customisation was brought up, they mentioned that characters with horns would have to be accounted for, which implicates Devil Jin.

Yeah, for me personally, I don't think Devil Jin will be added as a separate character. I think it will just be Jin activating the devil Jin to use its moves and power. As we see every time jin in t8 makes a move that only devil jin would do, we see a shadow of devil jin's wings in the back of jin, signifying that he is using or controlling the devil jin, and adding him would make jin activating or using devil jin's moves mid-fight unnecessary because those moves are on a different character already, unless devil jin uses normal jin's moves as well, and maybe at some point in the campaign, jin activates the full devil jin itself for some fights, kind of like an exclusive character.

he can be added like Kazumi, a memory character, but with gameplay, although such an outcome is unlikely

Angel could be cool. If I'm correct, she represented Kazuya's good side, no? From what we can hypothesize with Jun's inclusion, she obviously wants to stop all of this and wants both to save of them, most notably Kazuya. You even see him sort hesitate in their pre fight intro before entering the fighting stance.

Tbh when i watched the trailer i already thought of devil jin being in roster but no one kinda talks about it until the leak has somewhat a character that resembles devil jin. Hopefully we got full mishima moves and perhaps more hei moves (kinda) like blue spark otgf

The devil gene of the Tekken franchise is inspired by none other than the Devilman series. Jin is basically Akira whose struggling to control the dark urges within his soul while Devil Jin is none other than Amon, the demon that's possessing him

Anyone who actually played Tekken 8 could attest that regular Jin still very much feels like the same Jin we've had since Tekken 4, with minor changes as usual, the Omen stance is just reworked, most of the moves he can do in Heat mode are ones he was able to do in Tekken Tag 2 while tagging with a Mishima, it just uses different properties, as for story, I doubt there's gonna be an actual separation, Devil Jin always serves as either a transformed Jin or a 'what if' scenario, I'd assume that at most, we're gonna see Jin fight his 'inner demon' as a way to prepare for a rematch with Kazuya.

I might renew my ps plus sub for DVJ. I'd definitely do so for gigas lmao... But we all know who's the ultimate reveal, Mecha Heihachi!

Maybe i am in the danger zone but i was suprised that I wasn't the only one who want Devil Jin being part of Jin's move instead of a character. Its a personal thing but i just dont like how he looks with the lips, the horns, the hair, the costume and i hate when Jin its dark and Edgy

The reason he will be the last reveal is that he is Tekken 8😊, if you look at it Devil Jin is the main character as the luke skywalker to Devil Kazuya's darth Vader. Tekken story line for the most part has always been related to Devil (Gene). So it is only fiting that one of them is the protagonist and the other one is the villain. I always thought and wanted to some extent for Devil Jin to turn into Angel Jin at the end because if you look at his wings they resemble angel wings but in black kind of like a fallen angel which the devil/s originally were. It can also be the redemption for the fallen (Devil Jin) to rise again (as an angel again). So it is highly unlikely but the most cool one to turn Devil Jin into the Angel Jin as his true (awakened) form even if it by the end of the tekken 8 story and then we can have him as Angel Jin from tekken 9.

While id enjoy DJ, when you go over the difference between J/DJ to argue he's not a J clone i agree. But he's based on early Jin which were closely based on Kaz, so the question of being a clone is more relevant comparing to kaz.

Isn't there video footage that kind of points to DVJ actually being in the game? Like towards the end of the Story Opening Cinematic? My prediction is this - since Jin can now control his Devil powers (which is apparent because normal Jin now has moves from DVJ), it's the same when you pick DVJ - DVJ will have normal Jin moves.

I think D.Jin is just a waste of roster space since : 1.This is supposed to be Jins "redemption arc" so why should he still have the evil power and should he not be all controling and powerful? 2.I just hate devil jins gameplay and i dont want another "only devil jin is a viable mishima" like it was in tekken 6 and 7 before season4. I just hate characters who are constantly top tier it jus isnt fun.

wow i didnt know people were that anal about it, people who claim jin & Djin are the same character are either green ranks who have never touched the characters or simply haters. Djin & jin aren't like at all, a few common moves isn't enough to replace an entire character. Also, Tekken 8 jin has some devil jin moves, if you count them, they arent more than 5-6 moves, again NOT enough to replace Devil jin. Also, those moves are only accessible through stance or heat while devil jin had access to them just by inputting the move. Last, jin can control the devil gene, that does NOT mean he wont use it. hes literally just stronger whenever he's devil, his problem was the damage he used to cause and not being able to revert back. God i wish people gave a quick thought before their trash takes, and these are the same people who want knowledge check characters like lucky chloe in tekken 8 lmfao.

In T8 so far we only have had a Jin that can tape into his Devil powers but seemingly only partially or iwould stay on a surface level, he can use it as a buff that makes him remain in control, but we have yet to see a fully awakened Devil Jin cuz there is no way Jin will defeat Kazuya with mere devil buffs, Jin will surely either go Berserker at some point and inflict immense damage to Kazuya and kill him or making Jin into an inner conflict to overcome his Devil during e fight (much like how Kazuya did it on Tekken 4). Iwas really glad to see D.Jin leaked on the roster cuz I have high hopes that the devil Jin we are going to see on T8 is gonna be revamped and full of new demonic moves

I dont like devil but i also dont like jin and kazuya. Im a heihachi player but with his disappearance I'll play devil only because he has better pokes compared to kaz. As for the "clone" remarks, anyone whose ever played jin and devil knows they play nothing alike. Its like saying king and armor king are clones

Devil Jin will 120% exist in T8..... BUT, whether or not he exists as a separate roster character is the only thing up in the air. It'll definitely become something like True Devil Kazuya vs True Devil Jin at the end, the chance of this being the way the 'final battle' plays out is almost take it to the bank level. But just like True Devil Kazuya in Tekken 7, him having that form doesn't mean it'll be normally playable... so this may be the case with DVJ as well. Will he exist in T8? Pfft, guaranteed. Fucking GUARANTEED.... Will he be an actual roster character tho? Ok... now THAT is the question. I, for one, hope it doesn't happen. Having Jin and DVJ as two separate playables is just fucking stupid, especially since Kazuya has had devil transform since TTT2 and there is absolutely ZERO reason they can't give that to Jin too. Even right now with how Jin is in the beta, I'm still annoyed that his Heat mode isn't Devil form when it damn well should be.
