Usually in theatre, only actors receive acclaim. But lights and sets, the backbone of theatre productions, often go unappreciated. Bengaluru-based Pritham Kumar has distinguished himself as a lighting designer. Pritham is a self-taught lighting designer, He has created a four-part lighting design workshop, a first of its kind in Bengaluru to train theatre and dance practitioners as well as those interested in lighting design across the country. He claims that Critical thinking towards lighting design is important to make it accessible to all. If there is one quality that makes Mr. Pritham Kumar stand out in the field, it is his commitment. Very true...The background efforts are usually the one which make or break any performance. Sound engineering, as you have pointed out , is another highly underrated field We need more and more professionals in these fileds and most importantly the theatre owners who understand the nuances of these inside the auditorium rather than focusing on the exterior grandeur
