Do you find it restrictive with the umbilical to the battery, just a big negative for me swapping hands or working off ladders, my first choice is the HSA86 but wish the blade speed was faster.
@TheFullyChargedGardener
@TheFullyChargedGardener 2 жыл бұрын
I don’t mind the umbilical at all - I like the way it spreads the weight. I don’t ever use this machine up a ladder, most of the trimming I do with this unit is low Buxus or Taxus. 👍

Great machine. Just a shame it's so easy to cut through the cord like I did recently. I was using `battery belt and harness rather than AR2000 though. So I don't know if that makes a difference.

Could I ask a question regarding trimming privet with my Stihl equipment ? over the years the privet branches have extended some distance from the trunk resulting in a wide hedge, is it ok to cut the hedge back hard, that will result in it looking a bit brown initially but will the hedge put out new foliage nearer the trunk ? Thanks for the informative videos.
@andyt704
@andyt704 2 жыл бұрын
Privet is a fast growing hedge It will look bare for a while but will soon grow back, Also if you trim it regularly it will produce more side shoots making for a more dense & compact hedge.
@y9art
@y9art 2 жыл бұрын
@@andyt704 Thanks for the reply and your reassurance about the hedge recovery, probably my fault not being hard enough with my cutting each year.
@theconsistentnoddy9851
@theconsistentnoddy9851 Жыл бұрын
@@y9art I cut my privet hedge back hard to the bare wood of the trunks because it had been neglected and grown around 4-5ft wide. Its around 150ft long & I used hand tools to do it for a precise cut, it took around one full day to get it perfect. I watched a KZfaq video of the “West Country gardener” “renovating privet” and it gave me the confidence to do. Two summers later it looks incredible, already covered in tight growth & I have got the width down to 1ft along its entire length. Best decision I made & now it’s a doddle to trim 👍
