TRIMMING A YEW HEDGE.
Raw footage of me trimming a yew hedge, no music, just the sound of the AWESOME Stihl HSA 94t doing its thang.
Trimming this yew hedge with its gentle flowing curves is great fun. One of my favourite hedges to trim in the garden.
Thank you for watching.

Thanks for another great video. That machine sounds blissful! Makes my old HSA86 sound so plasticky...which it is of course. About time for an upgrade!

Maybe you should wait with the upgrade, as Stihl just put out a new model HSA100 that doesn't need the backpack battery, but has the same battery you use for the HSA86.

I dont know why stihl didnt design this so it accepted a battery like the hsa 86s. It could then be used with an adaptor and umbilical if required. Its a safety hazard if working from a ladder. The whole point of cordless is its cordless not corded and the run times of battery hedge trimmers are so long it negates using a backpack anyway !! On big jobs its nice to swap hands, difficult with the umbilical in my opinion. My hsa86s will have to do for the time being !! Otherwiss an awesome piece of kit.

Well, to be honest with this system you don't carry an extra 2 kg from the battery in your hand. What I do is I put the cable true the harness once. This way I'm not tangled up and it's less likely to cut trough the cable. ( have done that before)

Hi mate, due generally find the batteries last for a decent time? The cutting your doing for example? Ps why no videos lately? All the best mate

On a serious note though why did you switch battery set up part way through? Was this to demonstrate them or because that was the point you needed to?

Nice to just hear the guts of the machine! There's a part where you're using a pole trimmer. Which model is it?

Looking at getting the Kombi 135 r , is the hedge trimmer adequate with the kombi or is this a different beast altogether

The hedge trimmer kombi attachment with the 135r is brilliant. If you have a look on my channel you will find a video of it. Thank you for watching.

I moved to a long pole battery power Stihl hedge trimmer but in my average size domestic garden I find the length of the pole presents difficulty in working around trees etc therefore I was considering a machine like yours. Can you tell me how the relatively short lead to the battery works out ? When mains power I was always watching out for the mains lead either being under my feet or being careful not to cut the lead when cutting the bottom of the hedge.

Hi, The cable acts very differently to mains powered machines. I have never had it get in the way when trimming the bottom of a hedge - There are lots of options for routing the cable, depending on which harness/ battery you are using, which helps keep it close to your body. As you will see from the footage - I am able to swing the machine around freely without the cable getting in the way. Hope this is helpful and thank you for watching.

@@TheFullyChargedGardener Thanks for the reply, I watch your videos because you are an actual user of the kit not one of the talking heads reading off a spec sheet ! Just a question, my hedges are a mixture of privet and holly, would you suggest the t version or the r version, either seems difficult to obtain, my local dealer has had ' coming soon under the listing for some time now.

@@y9art Thank you for watching the videos. If the hedges you have are trimmed regularly and you don’t do many heavy reductions, go for the T. But if the hedges are trimmed less often and you do reductions, go for the R. We are definitely living in some crazy times with regards to global events. Fingers crossed the supply chain will recover soon.

If you had to choose just one, would you prefer to own the 94t or the 94r? And why?
@TheFullyChargedGardener
@TheFullyChargedGardener Жыл бұрын
We own the t version because most of the trimming it does, is dense Buxus & Taxus. And as you can see from the footage, it does a fantastic job. So if we were buying again - I would still go for the T version. Hope this is helpful.
