What I have learned from my resell experience is that it's ok to enjoy the money you make you don't have to invest every dollar. Obviously when you first start out invest it all but now in my later years I love to buy myself a bit of happiness through travel, certain items, and food!! 🤣🤣In short, live a little and enjoy your loved ones, you worked hard for it!

One thing I wish we had more time to talk about is leveraging debt to create wealth and Joe was a masterclass at it. It wasn’t until I understood that, that I began building wealth. It mostly applies to real estate but you can adapt it to apply in this market as well. It’s a shame the things you want to learn, aren’t taught in schools but I am very fortunate enough to have a mentor

Fire vid. No offense but being able to do bulk deals, even small, at 14 is not starting from the bottom. It’s fine to not be from the bottom, the goal is to have our youth in a better position so it’s ok, don’t have to jack bring from to bottom, especially if you grinded as you did. It’s wild how these deals usually take years to come to light but now we’re talking about them all in the open and Marcus gets off Scott free lol. Definitely want more of these with people actually in the field that don’t speak in corny code to make themselves look cooler

Nike pays more for shipping + import duties than what the shoe cost basically. Ship them on a container vessel across the waters. That used to be way cheaper now it went up a good amount but when u break down per-shoe it’s nothing. Then import duties are a heavy bill then add manufacturing costs and marketing costs (athlete contracts, endorsements commercials etc) and warehouse cost and headquarters cost and all the employees in between in different departments etc that’s what cost the most. So yea it may cost them 5-10$ to produce a shoe. But another 20-25 on import fees. Another 2-4$ to ship at most. Then they giving free shipping to members which cost. So they might be at 40-50$ at that point. And add up the over heads. They say they only make 10$ or so on a pair at the end realistically Even if they make 20-30. They drop millions of pairs every year. And other stuff like apparel which they probably have way higher margins on T-shirt don’t cost much at all and are easier and quicker to make. They could probably easily pocket 20-25 easily on a tee. U know how many people gotta eat off that. Thousands of employees and a bunch of executives etc

You talk about 16hour days, i work maybe 1 or 2 and then there is nothing left to do. How do you find enough stuff to fill an entire day ?
@rockychen3192
@rockychen3192 Жыл бұрын
There’s always stuff to do my brotha, saying there is nothing left to do is a lie we tell ourselves and I am 100% guilty of it myself. That goes for all areas of life. When I first started 10 years ago at 13/14 I would spend hours on Facebook groups looking for deals or buying used and cleaning them up, bus rides alone took 30mins-1hr each way. Up until a year ago I was still boxing and shipping every single pair myself anywhere from 50-1000 pairs at a time. Looking at lists, watching the markets, pricing offers out, intaking pairs as boxes land, sending wires, etc. All of these things are easy but time consuming. One advice I’d give after gone through it all, is know when to delegate and outsource work that you don’t personally HAVE to do and I wish I would’ve done it sooner. You’re trading time for money at the end of the day and when your time is worth more than the work that you’re doing, it’s time to outsource.

What’s baffling to me is why you guys put all this info out there?? If you have connects and backdoor plugs why expose the backdoor when the deal is done. Why would people want to backdoor to you in the future when you can’t keep your mouth shut. Let’s just put it on the internet that a Nike retailer and son of Michael Jordan hooked us up with all these pairs that were supposed to sell for retail from a licensed retailer. Can you just not help yourselves from talking? Just can’t keep it to yourself? Just bad for business if you ask me. But everyone will praise you and say it’s awesome. Even tho it screws them out of a chance for retail and you’ll never help them get plugged. It’s like you take everyone’s fair chance and then when you have all the pairs you dangle it in front of them and brag about how you stole their chance. Idk seems like corny bully mentality.

Every time you add a transaction in that re-sell production market, it costs more for the consumer. That's the point buyers are making when they're mad at resellers. Btw, Nike did gut punch resellers by flooding the market with Dunks and AJ1s. We're in this weird spot now where reselling is suffering, no?

All Cap you are generally not liked as a re-seller there’s nothing you can say to validate your existence period. And the theology :Well if I don’t someone will is laughable reseller’s are the reason your average joe doesn’t get shoe’s at retail regardless of what you have to pay due to your overhead of paying and running bots etc. The fact still remains the same basic math it 10 pair is produced and joe buys 7 at whatever price it’s only 3 remaining that reduces the quantity period. Shoes are sitting now because no one really cares anymore due to you resellers ruining the culture for a dollar.

Better read up on drug seizure laws, there are plenty of people that have had large sums of perfectly legitimate money with bank receipts stolen from state troopers, Feds, tsa and even local police for crossing state lines. My friend lost 70k trying to buy a Mercedes in Florida, he got stopped in Georgia or some shit. Be very careful, travel smart and don’t bring anything you can’t afford to lose because the sad truth is, it’s more costly to pay a lawyer to fight a seizure than it is to just take a L
