@@shotslife small blocks are better handling. I have a 74 Javelin AMX with a 360 and some NOS and we raced 3 times and he lost all 3. Only had a 100hp shot of nose. That stuff is fun! Have a great time in your shop and be safe.

Hi Chief, my father had, over the years, three Corvettes. The first two were Stingrays. One was a 1963 and the other was a 1967. Both of those had the big block 427 engine in them. I THINK both of them came with the option of a hardtop and soft top. He bought is last Corvette in 1972. He absolutely hated that car. It was in the shop more than on the road. One night, he was backing out of his best friends driveway, late on a Saturday night after playing poker. The driveway was located at the end of a long straightaway, on the crest of very steep hill, in his best friends neighborhood. My dad never saw the GTO coming up the hill at 100mph. When it hit his car, everything behind the front seats was completely sheered off and went on down the street with the GTO. My father said it happened so fast all he remembered was turning around to look in back cargo area and all he saw was the For Sale sign on vacant lot across from George's driveway. The GTO took the rear section of the fiberglass body, the rear axle and tires, gas tank, and the chrome bumper, all down the road. Of course the driver of the GTO was plastered. He didn't have a scratch on him, of course. After he survived that close call, he went and bought his first Chevy Blazer. The first of four in a row he purchased. Unlike, the Blazers of today, those things were built like tanks. He used to use the all steel chrome bumper to pull tree stumps out of the ground. He'd leave the tree stump sticking out of the ground just high enough that the bottom of the front bumper would scrape across the top of the stump. Once the bumper past the back edge of the stump, he would put the blazer in 4 wheel drive, backup and rip the stump right out of the ground. Those bumpers never did bend out of shape. Those bumpers were made of good old Detroit Steel. I remember when I was in high school, 1975, my father broadsided a faded blue Buick Electra Duce and a Quarter (225). The sedan had pulled out in front of him coming from a gas station. The Blazers front bumper was a little twisted up, the front grill had to be replaced, and the radiator was fine. The Buick was totaled. The Buick's left front quarter panel was hit so hard, the metal penetrated the engine block. The TANK destroyed that yard yacht. After that, my Dad was hooked on their safety. He bought his last one in the mid 1980's when he began to have leg and back problems. His Doctor to him he needed to buy a vehicle that didn't ride like bulldozer. He went and purchased his 1st. BMW; the 740i. It came with 12 cylinder engine. It was so smooth when it ran, you couldn't tell it was running when you laid your hand on the car. You could barely hear it running. ok, enough of story time. Sweet car.

Man that is a crazy story!! I think after that all I would care about is safety as well! We have had a couple BMWs, still have a Z3.. we sold are 330CI which we loved but once they start breaking the get real expensive!

@@shotslife My vanity plate once read AL'S MLC (Mid Life Crisis - X-wife's idea) I found a used(pre-owned) Audi TT Quatro at CarMax with 30,100 miles on it. Mint Condition. The car was only 2 y/o. Carolina Blue, Hardtop, 3.2L, V6, All Wheel Drive. Certainly, by far, the fastest car I ever owned. Had to sell her. Extended Warranty expired. Getting expensive to maintain. I miss that car. She ran like a scalded dog!

Nice project,,a very nice colour and I love the C3 Corvette!! My 81 has a very stock look and I want to go with a detailed engine dress up kit, but it does well with the stock appearance at the show’n shines. Once you start it up, it’s obvious the cam is not stock, but it’s not much more powerful than the 185 hp you got with the crossfire fuel injection system. All show, no go,,,, hahaha. YOURS!! You can do anything you like to that powertrain!! Very nice. I have always drooled a little when I see your introduction to each video,,,. Every man has their “adult viewing material” aka porn,,,, 😂😂😂. Mine is very nice cars unfortunately,,,, haha. You have a very nice Vette. Then it’s a convertible,,,,, AND you have the hardtop!!! Testing the ole ticker now!! 😂😂. I look forward to seeing where you go with your car next! You’re on the clock now!! (Probably done, but there’s a process here & I’m lookin forward to it.) (Oh yeah! We, my wife & I, are just outside Ottawa, ON tonight and are off to the eastern outskirts of Montreal tomorrow. Spend a couple to a few days touring Montreal for my wife’s first time. Then catfishing with a friend’s favourite guide out here.) I caught my PB Northern Pike on Thursday, it’s a fly rod, no less and it was 44” long!! Bigger than the any of the muskies we caught last week!! We did get a few in the 42-43 inch range though,,,, beautiful fish!! See you and the Vette in the next video??

Hey brother, well you have definitely had your share of cars! So the car is no where near done, waiting on parts etc… but it’s moving forward. Definitely on the clock! Wow, nice vacation! Sounds like you are having a blast! I really have no idea what video will be next but I better figure it out soon! It’s busy around here with the folks both down… and we are packing them up and moving them.

It's like Christmas every day identifying every single bolt and piece! Good luck on the project, it's going to take allot of patience to finish this thing up! Working on another piece of land since the State would not let me put ion a driveway where I wanted, I would have to build a frontage road and go through two other properties and of course I would have to cement it since my cars don't go on gravel. this other lot is only 5 minute away and will be perfect if everything works out. I have a meeting with the City on Tuesday to get the OK?

Subscribed to watch the Vette transformation. I have a 71 Bridgehampton Blue Vette with the same blue interior as yours that I bought a few years ago, but it's in driving condition and doesn't need much other than tinkering with a few things like all old cars need. Unfortunately, mine is not a rag top and it's an automatic, but the price was a steal. Much like you, I've retired from the military last Summer down here in Hampton roads, but I don't have a huge shop like yours. How did you get that Vette down the stairs into your basement ; )
