Yeah I already know about don hutson and curly Lambaeu and stuff but I just did it for title really. Also for his coaching career, what are you trying to say here? His record was not good and he made it to the playoffs one time if I can recall correctly, so how was me saying that was “way off base”? It was accurate. He was not that successful of a coach at all. And also what do you mean I need to research? Are you talking about bart starr or just packer greats in general. If the former I already know about the previous packer greats I’m not an ignorant to that, it was for the title like I said earlier or if your talking about bart starr himself, if that is the case let me know what I missed, because if i did than thanks for the point out.

When considering the coaching career of Bart Starr, you need to consider the role of the coach who preceded him, Dan Devine. In 1974, he engineered one of the worst trades in the history of the NFL when he traded the Packer 1st and 2nd round picks for 1975 and 1976, along with a 3rd round pick in 1977, for a washed up 38 year old QB named John Hadl. This was the situation Bart Starr walked into as coach and general manager when Devine fled Green Bay for Norte Dame in 1975, so the fact that he was even close to a .500 win percentage was appreciated by many fans at the time. The team he left behind was much better than the one he inherited. And the fact remains, Bart Starr is AN all-time great, not the FIRST all-time great in titletown.
