This compilation made me realize, Buck does have really bad abandonment issues. He doesn’t tell people how he feels, he pushes people away, he rushes into danger, he doesn’t get into long term relationships, and when he did, she left him too, that only added fuel to the fire.

I would to.... if I grew up with parents that allways was kind overprotectiv but at the sametime angry at you for every thing you did...and have the one that allways was there for you , suddenly just leave you and send you away...and suddenly you find a girl you think are the one and then she just leave without giving you any reason ( I think ) ... but aslo I think having bobby as a father figure and Eddie as his bromance reallly helped him to talk more about his feeling + that the family secret came out...

Oliver Stark nailed his role. He's raw with amazing acting skills. Out of all of his amazing performances in the show, Survivors episode was his best performance so far. The wide range of emotions he displayed in that episode alone is unmatched. I couldn't believe he didn't even got a nod for it. 911 is awesome not only because of Athena (Angela Bassett) but also because of Buck (Oliver). Kudos!

When I say Buck is one of my favorite characters. They introduced him as this jerk that annoyed everyone and slowly pulled back each layer to reveal exactly why he was the way he was and with each layer peeled back he became this fully lovable character. He is loyal, caring, reckless and has such a big heart. I LOVE EVAN BUCKLEY!! Seeing him in episodes makes my heart swell, seeing him with Christopher is me seeing my heart beat out of my body. The fact thatbhe would readily die in place of anyone from the 118 is just 😭😭😭😭😭😭

You know I just realised every thing good that’s happened to Eddie and Christopher has Buck in it and vice versa. Buck introduced Carla to Eddie which helped with taking care of Christopher. Buck became best friends with Eddie which means he could be there for Christopher. Eddie gave back a sense of family that he never got with his WACK parents. Eddie gave Buck a purpose when he had his injury. Eddie has been there for Buck as his confident or when he is thinking of doing something stupid. Buck gained a best friend. Buck realised he wanted a family when he saw Eddie with Christopher. Eddie gave Buck a sense of being valued when he feels expendable by trusting Buck to take care of Christopher if something happened. Lastly Buck and Eddie were miserable when they weren’t in each others life’s. Eddie realised Buck his forever whatever they are. Buck lost his mind when he thought he would lose Eddie forever, both times. Eddie and Buck are more to each other than just a friendship but if this is all we get. I accept and in the meanwhile we have these beautiful YT edits. 💖💜❤️

@Zii6262 жыл бұрын
Just to add on to this comment I posted a while back. I’ve never had a breakup before but 4 of my family members died this year. The closest one to me was my grandfather, just the fact that I have to accept he’s not coming back hurts me so much. I never thought I’d lose them so quickly, and I ignored my grandfather on ft then the next day he died. I could walk up to any single person in the entire world and say I’m sorry for doing this but I can’t do that for the person who I loved because their gone. I’m not sure if anyone has anything similar that happened to them but I just wanted to share my personal experience.
@ipacarrollreadАй бұрын
@@Zii626I know this is old but this happened to me, too. I called my dad the day of his Christmas party because I was out of town for a friend’s wedding. First party I had ever missed. I had finally gotten the courage to ask my abusive husband for a divorce. I figured I was surrounded by my friends and it would be safe but it was terrifying. He agreed without hurting me and I was so happy. When I called my dad, whomever answered the phone said he wasn’t feeling well so I said I would call the next day. He died less than seven hours later of a massive sudden death heart attack. I don’t believe in regret normally but I regret two things in life. I regret not leaving my ex husband the first time he hurt me and I regret not telling Daddy that I was leaving the guy he hated. I wish I could tell Daddy that I loved myself enough to save myself and my girls. I wish I could tell my dad I love him to his face, not just to his memory. I am sorry that you had such a shitty year. I’m sorry you lost so many, so quickly. I never knew what I wanted others to say to me so I’m not sure what to say but I’m sorry.

I have a real problem with Abby in the episode with the train derailment. I can understand she had to go away and find herself. No problem. Same with going away to recover from the death of a loved one. Here's what I can't swallow. She goes away, supposedly keeping lines of communication open. Calls get further and further apart or missed entirely. Then silence. When she returns she settles in Phoenix not LA. Here's my take. She didn't contact Buck because she was a coward. On top of that however she was downright RUDE. You ever hear of common courtesy Abby? It would take maybe ten minutes to drop Buck a note--"Buck, I'm sorry, I won't be coming back to LA. Have a nice life. Abby" No, I don't like Abby much.

everyone ignores how bad he's hurting and that pisses me OFF. in the sanitizer fire in s4 he mentioned how he almost gave up. its so evident that he has no regard for his life and shows so many suicidal tendencies and no one ever pays attention. they chalk it up to him "being buck" his parents are absolute shit bags and HE apologized to THEM. when eddie got shot and he says he thinks it would've been better if it was him that was shot, and the fact that he thinks he doesn't matter outside of being a firefighter. he told his parents "I walk through fire everyday bc of you" and no one gave it a second thought. he stood in a burning building thinking abt giving up and never making it back out bc of how he had been treated and how much he was in pain and no one gave that a second thought. idk maybe I'm reading in too much but I rlly feel for him. he deserves the world

Buck loves Maddie so much! Even with her disappearing the times she needed to, she’s been the only consistent person his whole life. She showed him so much love, and wanted to do whatever she could to protect him the best she could. She made choices that made it seem like she didn’t care in some people’s eyes but she has always just wanted him to be happy, free, and loved. Buck was always on her mind. They’re so much more then just siblings! They’re everything to each other. The way Buck loves and respects Maddie and just wants to protect her and to just be with her shows how important and HUGE of an impact she was while they were growing up and the bond they created, grew and maintained together. I just know if Maddie was to die I don’t think Buck would survive it. He’s been through so much and has pulled himself out of extremely dark places even after wanting to give up. But I don’t think he would be able to survive that. She is his world! I wish my siblings and I were even half as close as they are.

hi, i'm proceeding to rant about buddie because this has been bottled up for a while...so feel free to ignore. honestly the amount of trust* that two firefighters need to have in order to do their job without fail is astronomical and it's an understandable basis for shipping..and it almost always is, along with chemistry and tension that can be construed as unresolved /sexual/ tension. i get that the writers can do what they want and i feel like bromance should also be more emphasized in shows. (i prefer well-written friendships over subpar relationships any day) but /holy fcking sht/, abby and buck could've stayed a friendship/mentorship. like the age gap makes me shiver and the difference in emotional maturity is tough for me to get over**. and the issues buck has with abandonment was totally exacerbated by abby's absence. but ultimately i think her place in his character arc would've been better if she simply /helped/ him become more mature. i understand how buck's relationship with her made it so he wanted to be the best person he wanted to be, but that dependency and the blowback on his well-being after she left seemed problematic and unhealthy. but onto eddie and buck. i would absolutely love two guys just platonically co-parenting a child or even them just..being best friends. but the potential they have? would absolutely blow up in our faces. i mean, the likelihood that one of the actors, one more so than the other, would back out of making the relationship come to life on tv is...high...as high as my dad's cholesterol levels...and i inherited that sht. and even if the actors are completely on board, the writers would have the issue of "how in the absolute fck would we write it" along with "why not continue to queerbait half the audience". i won't rant about how absolutely perfectly imperfect i think the characters would be for each other, but the writers have literally set their relationships, at least eddie and ana if we're not gonna talk about the incompatibility of buck and taylor, up to fail. i honestly just think they deserve/d better, all of them. abby with a better sense of who she is. buck with a support system that he can trust to help him heal through trauma and his abandonment issues. eddie with a better handle on his feelings and how he deals with his issues. ana with a better basis as a character? like she feels simply written as a love interest...which makes sense because this is a show about first responders..but /still/. for taylor i hope she at least has some character development to reconcile her previous appearances but i think she fits better as a guest character who don't need no man***. *this trust leading to relationships is exemplified way more often in police procedurals as well as in shows that involve police; for canon see Andy and Sam from Rookie Blue, Tim and Isabel from The Rookie, Michaela and Jared from Manifest; for non-canon see Tim and Lucy from The Rookie and Olivia and Elliot from Law & Order and it's successors. both Andy and Sam from Rookie Blue and Tim and Lucy from the Rookie bring about a theme of former TO/rookie relationships which in it of itself is something reminiscent of power imbalance. **i think if both partners have the same level of emotional intelligence than some age gaps can be dismissed. my problem with so many of them is the fact that that isn't the case. ***but i think most female characters would be better without a man to heavily impact their character arc (read: strong female leads tend to be reduced to superficial love interests when written in a relationship later in that media and i'd like the writers to /not/)

I loved your rant. Personally I don't mind the age difference part that much, since they spent the first part getting ot know each other before they jumped into anything (plus shows like modern family have probably desensitized me a little too much when it comes to things like that). I completely agree with the opinion that Abby leaving probably affected him more than we realised, because we didn't know his backstory. It's probably also the reason why he stayed so long too. Also, with Taylor I don't think that she and Buck are a good fit romantically. They work as friends, but not really as anything more. I don't really care if Buddie happens or not, but I think that the only reason they brought Taylor back is to "get rid" of the possibility for Buddie which gives me the feeling that the relationship is forced.

I think buck and Eddie will eventually be together. Eddie has to come with his grips with who he really is. Christopher already loves Buck the same as his dad. I may be wrong, but I think it will happen. It's a match made in heaven.
