He is really far away from being one season wonder... And really far away from being forgotten as well. He progressely built his career and numbers shows that he was constantly a good goalscorer. Even if he had a dip in form in the next season, 19 goals is still something to be proud for. If we are talking about pure One season wonder, then names like Piatek are way more fit. And not only in Germany, but in Brazil as well Grafite is really well known for both his football and commentator/pundit career.

Most recent one season wonder player I can think of is Luka Jovic. With Eintracht Frankfurt he had an impressive season scoring many goals and was vital in their Europa League run and many felt like he was gonna be one of the best strikers in the world and clubs like Barcelona and Real Madrid wanted him. In the end, Real Madrid signed him for 60 million and he was expected to be the successor for Karim Benzema. He ended up being one of the biggest flops in Real Madrid history and some of it wasn't his fault, Karim Benzema's red hot form in front of goal didn't help, he had injuries, Zidane and Ancelotti didn't have faith in him and that resulted in only 3 goals throughout his Real Madrid career. Now he's playing for Florentina where things haven't improved for him there either. For me, Luka Jovic made that Real Madrid transfer way too early in his career and I think if he stayed at Frankfurt for a couple more seasons, maybe his career would've been on a different trajectory by now and maybe he would be playing for a bigger club, the move to Real Madrid was premature and not only is he a Real Madrid flop but he's also a one season wonder.

I mean, if you can literally go down in history and be the reason your club wins the title, you'd take it. Guy is a club legend and Bundesliga icon, pure Brazilian magician. Guy was a beast, he was literally playing a game of fifa that season/Haaland levels. The reason, he is forgotten a bit and seen as "one season wonder" is because he left to go to Saudi Arabia. Forgotten heroes of football for sure. What a man, what a player.

Misimovic was the reason he and dzeko scored so much in that season. His assist were gold worth, literally.

Followed that season very closely as VfB Suttgart fan. Towards the end it was between us, Bayern and Wolfsburg to become champions. I remember when i did see this goal i told to my brother that i wouldnt be mad if Wolfsburg makes it. Grafite was just a joy to watch then! Ill never forget him. Btw, that Bayern defense. Ottl, Lell and Breno... Three of the worst players who ever played for Bayern together. I still believe that goal was the slap Bayern needed to stop using such players and rise again to a powerhouse.

Als Woflsburger ist von Grafite noch immer zu hören der ist hier auch einer der größten Vereinslegenden und wird immernoch geehrt von dem Klub und den Fans

This eurocentric football view is kind of annoying to me, he got to Wolfsburg because he played very well in Brazil. There's football in Brazil too.

By the tone of the video, one would think he was abducted or something like that. He was just old and made the choice to win big money in the UAE. And then retired like every player does. This video is absolutely BIZARRE. Borderline disrespectful.

Calling him a 1 season wonder is very harsh considering he scored 19 goals the following season…
