Great video Mike. I didn't know the backstory of his final gig. Thanks for sharing this morsel. The Hell's Angels are a horrible group. I bet that gig was probably like living thru a bit of a glimpse of hell itself. Such a tragic loss. I enjoyed seeing your expressions/responses during the video. If you need any further narration assistance, I'm glad to help. God bless and rock on 👍😎🎸

That’s really sad. Jimi deserved better. The music industry used him up.

Good stuff as always Mike, I always love the Hendrix stuff. Kinda sad and anti climactic for such an amazing musician, that festival was horrendous and disorganized. Jimi would have rather played smaller venues where he can control the sound better and feel the vibe of the crowd, they were more intimate, but they just kept booking him on these increasingly rediculous festivals.

Thanks for sharing Mike! I've always imagined Hendrix expanding his creative expression into the world even further if he had lived longer and could have realized his dreams at his Electric Lady Studios he was building up... but it is truly sad how things ended. That was a tumultuous time for sure and we too often look back on it with rose colored glasses... it was not all happy, love and flowers experiences going around. Many people were "self medicating" while trying to make sense of the world, their place in it, and dealing with a lot of senseless violence that was going on around them. Jimi will always remain a beautiful light of creativity in a dark time in my mind... perhaps even a force beyond his own understanding. A legend to us rockers... he burned out far too early... but like so many have said, maybe better than to fade away. 😎🤘🎸

Hendrix was the guitar god of the late 1960's, but unfortunately there were a couple of shows he was too wasted to play. Some Hendrix fans don't believe it, they claim it did not matter how much acid he took nor sleeping pills or booze he nailed it every time he hit the stage.

One of his concerts at Hawaii in 1970 was amazing but sadly most he did that year were terrible as he was too drugged out to play coherently

hey ya mike great vid i was really taken back by the storyline i had no idea i swear as the part about the gales came up my mind went to the video of srv i cant help but wonder if that was the inspiration when you talked about the bass player getting the spiked drink that is one of the things bikers do to their new members to see if they can handle themselves gawd in those days the pa systems could ground out and shock you on a dry day much less in the rain the more i see of jimi"s last days the more i have problem"s with the loss of life clause they had in contracts of the day if you need any help mike let me know and ill contact you

A nicer way to look at his sad demise is to consider the Ronnie Scott gig as his last gig - on stage with his mate, Eric Burdon, playing in a comfortable club. He also does more than just backing. He really plays well at points. The show is readily available on KZfaq.

I’ve read a lot about him over the years. I’ve long wondered if the “accidental overdose” that killed him was indeed an accident, or if he decided it was time to move on to the next plane.

Hendrix Songwriting was amazing , his downfall was 1970 if you watch his shows from his last year alive they are not very good , at Isle of Wight everything went wrong that could go wrong. At his Sweden convert his guitar 🎸 kept goin out of tune and the Isle of Fermahn was awful he played well but got a lot of negative waves from the audience, like he was some relic of a by gone Era , the Peace ☮️ and Love days were sadly dead by 1970 and soon Jimi would be too RIP Hendrix 😔🌹
