Gilneas has what I wish the alliance as a whole had,nobles and lords, civil war and inner conflict, gilneas is a well done representation of all this

The only minor character to kill Sylvanas

Since the Night Elf capital is now gone, plus the UnderCity is gone & no longer under Horde control after BFA with Sylvanas blighting it all, the Horde has little to no power or control over that region as the Blood Elves are in a way so far away (plus Blizz saying the Alliance won both Warfronts) so it would be good & plausible for the Alliance to take Gilneas back. It would give the Worgen their own home instead of hanging out in StormWind just as the Night Elves are now, plus as the Worgen & Night Elves are fairly close due to the Night Elves helping them with their transformation & both having Druids among them, it would make sense for them to go there too. Also with how the relationship between Tyrande & Anduin is currently going. Plus there being the woods & forests areas where they could have their own space & not living in the actual Human city, as well as helping heal the land from the Undead attacks & the shattering. Although with how critical King Greymane is for the Alliance being in StormWind with what's happening in the Shadowlands & StormWind itself because of what happens, I don't see it happening this expansion or at least not until the end.

Gilneas is such a gorgeous city,. It is criminal that it has been unusable and empty for 8 years now. With the BfA (and now SL) events I think it is the perfect opportunity to turn Gilneas to an actual faction hub and questing area.

Godfrey and his goons are such wasted potential. My theory on why they either decided to just make them villains out of nowhere or to bring them back at all is because Horde needed a huge dungeon revamp since Deadmines was getting one, so they threw something together real quick. I wish I lived in the alternate timeline where Godfrey and his goons become recurring characters as a part of the Forsaken.

I wish Halford Ramsay became a major character again. The idea of a detective with wolf senses is so cool.

With such the Ego that Sylvanas has it's super fun to imagine her seethe at being outwitted and killed by someone she deemed lesser.

This makes me wonder if we'll see a part of the Maw where Sylvanas tortures her personal enemies. Godfrey, Garithos, Saurfang, etc....

I love the worgen intro so much. They need to make more of these dark storylines. With people you can genuinely hate, not this "morally grey"-Sylvanas (who was darker than the shade of night-grey), bs.

Turns out this man was doing the world a huge solid. Same as genn did by screwing sylvanas over with the valkyr. Amazing how the ones who did probably the most damage to her were gilneans.

Would be so cool if Gilneans could have a proper Worgen class skill tree in addition to the normal class. Time to put the claws and fangs to good use!

"At the hour of her third death, she will usher in our coming" makes more sense now. Sylvanas died three times. Once as a living elf, the second after throwing herself off Icecrown, and shot by Godfrey. After that, allsorts of Old God stuff started happening.

played Cata just for the Gilneas and Goblin starting zone quests/lore, uninstalled after they send you off to Darkshore to see your Azeroth scribbled over with an eraser cursor in MS Paint. Gilneas with the hills, fog, elevation changes reminds of The Birds movie in Bodega Bay...very cool

Yup. Before Classic, I had never ever played a single character on the horde side while playing since 2005. Then Classic arrived, I was about to reroll exactly what I used to play and then I thougth "Are you stupid? You've been playing Warrior, Mage and Death Knight for 15 years and you just want to start fresh with the same setup ? (Minus the DK, obviously ...)". So I thought it would be a good time to check out the part of the game I had never played. Absolutely had a blast. Fresh new content I had never experienced. Horde side. And playing Shaman. Even better - a healer. For the first time in 15 years. I had never rolled healer. Tank yes. Dps, obviously. And then I finished my leveling journey on Classic, kept playing, rerolled in the Alliance obviously because my heart lies with the boys in blue forever, but then I thought "Hey, since you played Classic as Horde, you can now continue the story on modern WoW to see what happens next." The last horde character I leveled on classic was a Forsaken Rogue. So I thought "Hey, let's make a fresh BFA character as something along these lines." I went for Forsaken Hunter. Played the first zone. Found it cool to see the evolution of all these stories between the Classic quests, and the Cataclysm ones. Then I play Silverpine. Have a total blast. And then. "Lady Sylvanas Windrunner dies." I had heard about it before, I mean it was a 10 year old spoiler at this point. But it had slipped my mind. And the way it just happened I was left with my jaw dropped. Even though I obviously knew she was still alive, just that Godfrey would shoot her in the back like this in the head ... Jaw dropped.

I always though of gilneas as the perfect introduction. It shows so much of the gilnean people.

I hope we see Godfrey in Shadowlands, we need his expertise in killing Sylvanas. I wouldn't be surprised if she has him locked up in the Maw, probably from denying redemption in Revendreth. We free him and it's an enemy mine situation. With his expertise we make the ultimate plan to stop Sylvanas, give everybody guns. If it worked the first time, it can work again.

People asking Blizzard for a timeskip in the story and then you have Worgen players that have a 10-12 year jump from mid Warcraft 3, when they worgen are attacking after they "defeat" the Scourge at the gates and are still kind of a novelty, to the the beginning of Cataclysm. All during that little cinematic.

I enjoyed Wargen lore. It is interesting to look at Godfrey. I remember him as the one narrating the awesome cutscene when the player turns to a worgen. It is interesting to see what happened to him after the Wargen starting area. I think he ultimatly got a bad deal. If I had to pick, I would rather be a worgen than a zombie anyday. Wargon are awesome. Werewolves are my favorite moster of horror. I am such a furry.

He sure was a complex character for some seemingly random quest giver. I Dont belive he was Fully evil, he did heinous Crimes but he always had a reason for doing what he did.

Probably the biggest waste of a character in WoW history. He should've been Sylvanas' champion - not that simp Nathanos.

It always bothered me that they didnt bother to do an alternate cut scene where the 'you' are a female worgen. I loved doing the starting zone and getting into character - and then saw I was a male worgan in the cut scene.... easily could be changed but nah.

Genn Greymane is actually a horrible and shitty person. He condemned all of Lordaeron to burn, blocked off his kingdom from the rest of the world. And then condemned the Forsaken and refused to parlay. They didn’t even take in refugees from the plague back in classic. The Worgen curse (Arugal) was also his fault since he and the nobles gave Arugal Pyrewood Keep (Shadowfang) and didn’t monitor his experiments. He’s actually more selfish than Sylvanas.

I don't understand the passive 'Godfrey killed Sylvanas because he knew what Blizz was gonna do to her lolz' comments. She's been an inherently selfish and self serving person for as long as we've known her as the leader of the Forsaken. Her goal, ever since she fell off ICC, has been to sustain her life and not go to whatever hellish landscape is promised to her. Everything she's done to this point is perfectly in line with her personality and her goals. She does not care about anyone but herself and maybe a little bit her people. Make her Warchief? Of course she's gonna use the Horde to fulfill what she wants. She's not 'poorly written' I don't think. She's just following a train of thought and action that a lot of people don't like. It's sending the horde down the path of losing yet another Warchief and thinning out the Horde's numbers overall. I get the frustration from THAT standpoint, but in terms of who she is and what she's doing in response to her own fate? It makes perfect sense.
