HOLY SHIT THIS TOOK FOREVER. I recently started a grown up job (internship) for the summer and damn I didn't realize how much less free time I'd have but I had to do this cuz IM OBSESSED. And I couldn't decide on what to focus on when I made a Malec video so I just focused on EVERYTHING. I hope you enjoy!
There's probably going to be about 5 more shadowhunter videos? Then I'll probably be back to OUAT and other stuff. Though, I think I might throw in a Killian and CS video in between those somewhere!

I agree with the concept of her development but not with how it was made. It seemed so rushed and fake to me. I understand that you can't spend hours and hours on one character but there's a piece or two missing for it to be logical (in my opinion)

@@EthelBH This is just my opinion: I would give Zuko the benefit of the doubt but he was just a teenager learning to not idolize his father and finding the courage to be himself...Maryse is an adult who changed her entire viewpoint just because she loves her son. It is completely different for a teenage character to change their ways because they are always growing and learning new things by interacting with new people and things, whereas adults are more set in their ways and think they don't have anything to learn anymore. The fact that she embraces Magnus, a warlock who she has been taught to hate for maybe all of her life, just because he is important to Alec is the reason that I think she has the best development of any character that I have read and seen. Again, just my opinion but I had to explain my reasoning :-)

@@SGAnascar i do respect and appreciate Maryse's character development, especially considering she's an adult and they do question their beliefs a lot less, but I also think that Zuko not only had to let go of the hope of ever receiving love (or even just recognition) from his father, but learn to love himself in spite of it, face his mistakes, accept that his knowledge of the world was completely twisted and wrong and act on it and the fact that all of this character development happened in a way that felt genuine is, to me, more impressive than the fact that she let go of prejudice in the face of love, however honorable and amazing that may be.

I felt it happened completely out of the blue. She was fully against them and then she dissapeared for a while and when she came back she was suddenly 100% supportive and happy for them. It would have made more sense and made more of an impact if it had happened more gradually. (I'm talking about the show)

SPOILER FOR THE INFERNAL INSTRUMENTS that is made even sweeter but art the same time sad knowing that Brother Zachariah is Jem. In the books, on multiple occasions we see Jem not being able to express his feelings with words, so he expresses them through music with his violin, but Silent Brothers aren't allowed to play instruments so the most he can do is not be completely silent. This came out longer that expected.

Read the books, they’re AMAZING! The newest one called “The Lost Book of the White” is about Magnus Bane and Alec Lightwood and it’s the second one in the series and it’s due on in September. The first one came out last year and was really good. All of the books in the Shadowhunters series are extremely good!!

@@living_is_everything it's based on a series of six books called the mortal instruments, by Cassandra Clare. there is also a series of three books about the characters Victorian ancestors called the infernal devices, and a series of 3 books about some characters that are in the last mortal instruments book called the dark artifices (the mortal instruments characters do make appearances). there is also other shadowhunters books by Cassandra Clare like the bane chronicles which is a collection short storys about Magnus

I love when Dot tried to kiss Magnus, his clear answer was "No, I'm in love with Alec. I'm one soul at a time kind of guy." This answer is so much better than "I can't, I have a partner and they wouldn't like it" The latter gives the expression that because you're with someone and that someone won't like it, that's why you are not kissing the other person. The first one, what Magnus says implies that HE DOESN'T WANT TO BECAUSE HE IS IN LOVE WITH ALEC. Saying you can't because of someone and saying you DON'T want to is completely different. That's what I love about this line. It feels like no matter what happens, even if they break up or fight, Magnus will never feel anything for anyone else, even when there's nobody to stop him.

The beautiful thing about their relationship is that no matter how big the problem is, or how messed up the situation is, they always find their way back to each other🥺 Alec never hesitated to apologize and lower his ego for Magnus, and so did Magnus. They never give up on each other. It’s simply just a beautiful relationship😭

One of my favorites moments of them in the books was in City of Glass. The city is being attacked by demons and Alec is fighting and gets overwhelmed so then Magnus jumps in and saves him and the first thing he says is “You didn’t call me” 😂😂😂

It’s amazing for people of my generation to see so many gay storylines all over the internet, tv and even in cinema or live theater. I never had to hide or lie about my feelings but I know many of my peers did and their lives were not happy because of it. We didn’t have role models like this, examples of promises of what could be relationship between 2 people of the same gender . I’m so happy to see how much things have already changed.

Whoever outfitted Magnus during the series did an amazing job. The outfits were always well thought out. I love the details like his rings, earrings and belt. His nail polish is always perfect too. Even his hairstyles are always great.

I honestly cannot believe that this is the same guy who played Mike Chang in Glee! I loved him in Glee, don't get me wrong, he was adorable! But DAMN! He's so good as Magnus and I love the chemistry between Matt and Harry. Makes you really root and fall in love with Malec! (also, Izzy is a badass!)
