The Story of Noisia
Tuesday brought the sad news that after 20 years together, Nik, Thijs and Martijn will be disbanding as Noisia. Even though they will carry on touring and producing Noisia Radio until the end of 2020, from 2021 the Noisia project is over.
A trio so influential in the development of bass music, not only in the music they created but in the way they inspired others in the process. The role they've played can be compared to the likes of The Prodigy, The Chemical Brothers and Daft Punk within their own fields; although Noisia will be over soon, their legacy will live on in the heart of bass music forever.
In this video, I pay tribute to this legendary group, detailing their reasons for parting ways before giving a brief history of Noisia, revealing the sheer scope of their work beyond their own music. I then give my personal favourite Top 10 tracks of theirs - including a few extras too - before rounding the video up with some closing thoughts.
I hope you enjoy the video, that it is a testament to these absolute stalwarts of bass music, whether you're someone who grew up on them, or are just getting started.

My introduction of them was late 2016 with the remixes of outer edges started to come out. Later on I started listening to their origins, split the atom and I guess anything that's it. They also made an ost album for Devil May Cry (the reboot) and they have alias ranging from aforemented I Am Legion to Nightwatch, and so many others. Absolute legends. The bass music scene won't be the same without NOISIA. I'm glad they will still be making music separately and may collab again, the project's spirit will still live on. I'll always remember their work, stuff like Split The Atom & Outer Edges are absolutely timeless.

There will never be another Noisia. Since their emergence in the early 2000s, they have amassed so much skill and respect throughout the scene. Since their early neuro/dNb tunes up to their more experimental releases as of late. They are the most technically advanced artists of our time, songs like Sinkhole show this. Most artists today are influenced by them. They mentored artists like Skrillex. Their Noisia radio is one of the best radio shows in bass music and is a real tastemaker. Noisia was the first non-dubstep group I really liked and they truly opened my ears, as I went back to some songs I previously hated but now I love them. Their parting is one of the saddest things to happen in the bass scene ever. They will however always be remembered in my heart and the hearts of many others.

Noisia was a staple in the Drum&Bass scene. They were one of the most influential and highly regarded acts. Literally striking fear into the hearts of Electronic producers across the globe. They were a trilogy that hadn’t been felt since the prestigious Ram Trilogy collective. It was a level to reach as a producer and they produced many a tune! Their legacy is cemented and will never be forgotten. Long live and love Noisia!

I love "Outer Edges" and I can never get the negative reviews on this album. I mean sure, it's far from mainstream music standards, but describing some songs as "just stupid" proves that real fans have finally been separated from people who just can't handle their innovative and evolving style. Also, lovely video! Judging by the lack of any other commentary on Noisia music out there on KZfaq, I fairly enjoyed it! :D

I’ve been listening to Noisia since I was 7 or 8 (yes it’s funny but it’s true) and I’m now almost 17 so despite being younger than most Noisiaheads, I’ve been an avid listener and Noisia will always be my favorite artist, along with others like BSE, Current value, etc

The craziest thing is they are continuing because of covid and did some of their best colabs because of it. They Got Dylan Fucking Brady, Skrillex, and Holy fuck I am so happy they are still around

At first I was sad when hearing about Noisia's end because I thought they weren't friends anymore but only until I read their statement. As long there is music created by any of these three I'm fine.

I'm sure that those three separate project will still sound amazing and sometimes even better. If they came up with this it means they already know where they're going in the future, what every one really want to do but can't right now becouse of being part of a project with an already defined style Still.. I'll miss them as a group obviously, I think I don't need to say it

My fucking question is: how the hell did their production and technical skills get so advanced? I mean, did they all have experience years before they created their sound? Their productions are beyond amazing. They never talk about that. Just random guys that have einstein production levels. Strange.

Dude you really need to give links to or at least list all the songs you mention in the video. It becomes terribly inconvenient to pause the video multiple times to make a list outside of KZfaq and put it in spotify. Please for the love of your subscribers, start including song list in the video description.
