ABOUT THE GAME:
Hades is a rogue-like dungeon crawler game from Supergiant Games, You play as Zagreus, immortal son of Hades, as he attempts to escape from the Underworld to reach Mount Olympus.

A god of blood, who reunites and creates blood ties. And so it is said, often misplaced, that blood is thicker than water, but the true meaning is the blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb Zagreus shows us, in this stilted world, how to mend families despite the differences, through traditions of old that offered sacrifices to others, to the gods, that represent our primordial essences, he balances and brings order to his world, even minding himself around chaos itself. This game is more accurate than one truly imagines to the Greek mythology, for gods represent more than our human virtues they are our virtues, and our vices, that grow hold over us long after death. And so I say again, the blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb, for Zagreus shows how we must sacrifice and strive for that truth that we must shed.

This might be the first work of fiction to give the Greek Chaos a characterization. Nyx has had some in a few other works like Smite (as Nox), but this seems to be Chaos' first

KHAOS (Chaos) was the first of the primordial gods (protogenoi) to emerge at the dawn of creation. She was followed in quick succession by Gaia (Gaea, Earth), Tartaros (the Pit Below) and Eros (Procreation). Khaos was the lower atmosphere which surrounds the earth--both the invisible air and the gloom of fog and mist. The word khaos means "gap" or "chasm" being the space between heaven and earth. Khaos was the mother and grandmother of the other misty essences--Erebos (the mists of netherworld darkness), Aither (the ethereal mists of heaven), Nyx (the night) and Hemera (the day), as well as the numerous emotion-driving Daimones (Spirits) which haunted it. She was also a goddess of fate like her daughter Nyx and grand-daughters the Moirai (Moirae). As the goddess of the Air) Khaos was also the mother of birds, just as Gaia (the Earth) was the mother of land animals, and Thalassa (the Sea) was the mother of fish. Late classical authors redefined Khaos as the chaotic mix of elements which existed in the primordial universe, conflating it with the primal "Mud" of the Orphic cosmogony. The modern English word "chaos" derives from this.

I read somewhere that even in Greek myths it wasn't really specified so it's very fitting to just make them non-binary. Besides they are such an old and powerful being that it probably doesn't really matter as well.

Nyx and Gaia are two primordial goddesses that no one dares to mess with, even Zeus. Hypno once angered Zeus during Hercules's birth, but Zeus abandoned the hunt when Hypno fleed to his mother Nyx's protection.

Because Zeus hate Hypnos when he doesn’t want to get sleepy and Zeus hate Eris when he doesn’t want to get involved with discord, conflict, disagreement, and incompatibility. Zeus himself feared Nyx enough to retract all threats against her son Hypnos and her daughter Eris.

I believe it’s because Chaos is supposed to androgynous, so they has both feminine and masculine traits. After all, I don’t think it would be fitting for the literal embodiment of a Chaos to have a defined gender.

I wouldn’t be surprised if it were multiple. Their voice sounds so overwhelming and sounds like a group of people at once. ( which I’m pretty sure is the point) Unlike nyx who only sounds like she has a reverberated voice.

They're a different definition of Chaos. In Greek mythology, Chaos was the void from which all sprung, not chaotic, but more... unknown. Chaos' appearance and voice being entirely non-binary reflects thias

I got friends named Kilat Krofi, Kabut Krafi, Intan Insawana, Adam Aditama, etc. My name is basically A-Z (yours is C-C), sometimes i sad bcs there are so many people use my name, but im fine with it. It pretty gender neutral, but commonly is for boy, not girl. I imagine having unique name is more beneficial and make you remembered by people around you.
