I have vivid memories of trying to get the Buffalo radio station as they didn't sellout in time and listening as the Bills were getting beat. I admit I was like "well this is over." but I kept the boombox on and listened. As the Bills were making the comeback my cousin's husband and I were sitting on the couch cheering them on! It was a helluva comeback. Years later I was able to get a complete TV broadcast of the game and I got to say it was awesome to watch. Those Oilers players thought they had it made but the trouble with the Run n' Shoot is that it's not the best offense to sit on a lead with and the Bills completely flipped the script. This was probably Reich's greatest pro game and I will be silently rooting on his Colts to do well in the playoffs this year.

I loved this game! At the time we didn't have a team (Jacksonville) and I was a Bills fan and my brother was an Oiler. I still say this team was one of the greatest ever. Loosing those 4 Super Bowls still hurts.

What's funny is that Frank Reich also led the biggest comeback in college football history and was a backup then as well. Though it's kind of messed up that the Bills would be on the receiving end of the second biggest blowout in Super Bowl history a few games later.

It really hurt those years to see those guys not win one or two of those Superbowls because I was and still am the biggest Bills fan. The K-gun attack was fun to watch. Most people like Jerry Rice as the goat, but Andre Reed is still my all time favorite receiver. Sooner or later, I hope sooner, Josh Allen and the guys will bring a super bowl home to Buffalo.

It’s funny that this vid talks about momentum, because I have always been a believer that momentum changes everything. But in that sense, this game was an anomaly. The Oilers had just clapped the Bills the week before and that was with Jim Kelly actually playing. The Bills continued to get killed the next week (wild card week) and got behind by a ton of points and Reich threw a back breaking pick six. But suddenly, after getting thrashed by the same team for a week and a half and losing key starters, the Bills put things together time after time and the Oilers couldn’t seem to manage a first down. A pure inexplicable miracle.

Considering the timing of when this was uploaded (just yesterday), I'm surprised that they didn't mention that the same Frank Reich is about to coach his first Wild Card playoff game as a Head Coach.

Up by 5 touchdowns, early in the 3rd quarter, the Oilers' defense took their foot off the gas, and started playing conservative zone defense, even when the Bills were deep into their comeback.
