"Could we lose at the end of an expansion?" This is something I've been wanting to see for a long time. Sure, we've lost at the beginning of an expansion, like Legion, but we have never ended a story with us on the back foot, wondering how we can recover. It is something FFXIV did really well with the end of A Realm Reborn (no spoilers), and I would love to see one of the new expansions end with us losing in a big way and fighting desperately at the start of the next expansion.

I'm excited about Iridikron and his Primalists Faction collaborating with Xa'latath and the Nerubians in Azeroth's Hollow Earth. Additionally, I am hyped to explore more Azeroth World Soul lore and visions before finally witnessing her true nature in The Last Titan Expansion.

It would be really interesting to see where the story goes it the void and light. Would everything in nzoth's nightmare come to pass and the light looses? I'd like to see this would be a perfect oppertunity for Arator the redeemer to play a part in some way since he is a child of Alleria (The void) and Turaylon (The light). Sylvanas offering guidance to Alleria would be really interesting as well.

These 3 expansion premises does feel like it is what should have happened after Legion, while BFA, Shadowlands and Dragonflight felt like they were trying to break away from the story thread of the past

They don't need to reinvent the wheel. Just get back to what made the game great for the first few expansions: grounded storytelling that heavily involves azeroth and its cities, the native factions there, keep the current style of talent trees, make way more class based quest lines, do the same with weapons, heavily expand and focus on PVP, etc.

I once heard and read from some old lore that in WoW every being has a single "soul" within itself which allows it to "will" itself in the realm. The soul in itself is naturally at a certain balance between Light and Shadow where persistent moods and thoughts arise and go. Take a look at the Lightforged questline where a Draenei goes through the trials to become a Lightforged. Or more recently, a spirit latching on to Shandris as Lilian Voss helps her in the Emerald Dream overcome her grief. I think that with Shadowlands we had alot of thoughts about the "machinations" behind souls. Soul-Forges, Soulbinding, Soul Destruction etc. War Within will probably be about what exactly a soul is to begin with, and how the cosmic forces are constantly attempting to latch onto or tear apart souls. This is a theme that was always present in WoW since the very beginning, but never something that was explored in-depth. And I strongly believe that "memories" and shared emotions are something in WoW that can temeporarly bring back entities that were long gone as the individual struggles with similar issues. We saw that in Anduin's Shalamayne moment where you hear the soft voice "My son" rather sound like King Menethil as he has the hand placed on his shoulder, and the ghastly effects of the short moment in the clip shows the blue light of his soul being drawn towards (probably) Shalamayne itself. I believe that Anduin is "possessed" in that way, by Arthas' spirit and legacy, as he is going through similar emotions and a similar story as Arthas did, with the only twist that he faults himself for something he actually wasn't responsible for. So if you see the Light and Shadow as two extremes of a slidebar for the human soul and condition, Anduin right now is leaning towards the Shadow, and is therefore unable to find his Light back. Since the Emerald Dream received a gift from the Shadowlands which enabled it to spawn a World Tree into Existence, I believe that this is partly due to the fact that the Veil was broken, and at the same time, what was in the Maw in Shadowlands, is now born into Reality, into Azeroth itself, and I believe that we are witnessing the birth of a New Old God we were responsible for and that we will get alot of stuff about the void / shadow, and definitely some bugs to kill.

According to Ever Tale it was So obvious. I'm so glad you make this videos noble. Some of us just can't read in between the lines and just take the cinematic at face value.

Greetings Nobbel, I have a burning question that I was seeking help with. What do you think is the purpose in giving back the Aspects their power? 80% of the Aspects have ended, or are planned to end in evil and destruction. Maly, Deathwing, Ysera before her death, and Nozdormu. This leaves only one left that has not turned evil. As the defenders of Azeroth, why would we let them become powerful again?

I wonder who the “Heretics” mentioned in one of the books found in DF supposed to be, since the earthen does not seem opposed the titans and the Arathi are to young civilisation. Any thoughts mighty lore master? Also, any connections between the fire beards of both Sargeras and Odin, just coincidence or titanic fashion?

While I think it's always exciting to see what comes next after an expansion when you don't know, I think this is an important step for them to take if they want the story to make sense going forward. Plan out one big story and keep it going through expansions. I think the previous design philosophy of mostly having expansions be self-contained while leaving a lot of loose ends has really been hurting the continuity and coherence of the story.

when bungie announced the next 3 destiny expansions (at the time), what followed was some of the most exciting years to be a destiny player! So happy this kind of hype and ticket admission feeling is coming to my first love, wow :)

this is the first time since legion I'm at least hopeful about WoW's story, it seems they actually have something thought out, maybe that means less last min changes and not being so worried about community feed back and changing stuff based on the vocal minority. my only worry is how much will the current culture at blizzard will allow Metzen to try to get warcraft's tone back to it's original feeling.

with an expansion about underground Azeroth, I hope that in some patch or at some point we get to explore the undermine, it's an important underground zone that was talked about a lot in the lore but never really explored, actually I think it could've made for a pretty cool capital city

thr thre clans of dwarves and earthen are very similar. peahps the dwarves were originaly in similar roles orignally. i think perhaps it is a naaru crytal or a old god birth crystal. teh reverse of narru turn darker and darker til end. isnead a shell of light though contain a dark yolk, getting darke as it absorbs the amnotic fluid.
