Ryuji Yamazaki, is he a yakuza boss ? a member of the Hakkeshu, servants of Orochi ? or just an insane wanted criminal that enjoys torturing and killing ?
This video focuses on his back story as one of the most insane Characters in The King of Fighters and the Fatal Fury series.
Yamazaki's involvement with the king of fighters tournaments started officially in KOF 97. before that, he had an eventful life as a gangster in Japan and Hong Kong.

Yamazaki, not just an ideal fighter but an ideal person. Brawler, hates martial arts most of that shit doesn't even work he just believes in himself and fights for himself. Doesn't worship evil beings and he's low key insane so he cant be mind controlled. Yup...Bad Ass 💪

he's a perfect character for defensive players and a nightmare for rushdown players. he's a heavy counter against leona or even projectile spammers like athena. he has a decent range with his flickerjabs heavily preventing to jump in or rushdown , and can be used to poke zoners. and if a rushdown gets too close he can rely on his dp+P or my favourite dp+LK or you can command grab them if they opt. to defend his supers are command grabs as well so basically if you don't put pressure if you're too close to him you are fucked.. best way to defend against a good yamazaki player is keep going for offensive if you're close , he has slow start up on some of his attacks with the exception of his dp+HK and and unique normal attacks. do not get too close to him keep a safe distance if you're on the defensive usually you can block low and you'll be safe from most of his ranged attacks. a good yamazaki players are usually patience don't get baited if they usually on the defensive. his realbout 2 incarnation is probably the best.

You see this in real life cases, or fictional characters such as DC’s Joker or Marvel Comics’ Cletus Kasady a.k.a Carnage.

Yamazaki is one of those designs that doesn't need to be loud or flamboyant to make an immediate impression on you. Just from a glance you know this dude is trouble. One of the coolest fighting game villains ever. I mean come on, one of his moves is pulling a knife and one of his super moves involves him repeatedly bashing someone's head into pavement. It's wholesome fun for the family.

I never played any KoF games only know Geese, Mai and K but this guy is badass he reminds me of Yujiro Hanma with hand in pocket fighting stance, the all black outfit and his attitude. I would probably try to main this guy if I played this series

Your channel is so interesting. I love many of the snk characters but never really understood their background story. Up to kof 99 it's so interesting It's a shame that to be able to keep the character rooster stable their have to mess up the continuity, like having Geese back for instance or characters that don't get older

After KOF 2003, he was not appear in KOF game anymore(Excluded SNK All Stars, KOF 2002 UM). The reason is unknown.

Man Kof 97 was my very first Introduction to the Kof series and I Thoroughly enjoyed using Yamazaki. He is brutal, bad ass and just off putting in comparison to everyone else. I remember how hype I would get when I could catch my friends with his super move and drain their hit points with those brutal headbutts. Also, Fatal fury 3 intro!

I kinda figured it was the other way around, where he's instead, has total control over the orochi blood, and can bring out the riot whenever he wants. His crazed antics are similar to iroi and Leona when they are in full riot. He can just swtich it on and off at will. Funny because having control like that would imply him to be even more powerful than the lore suggests. If he did care at all about his blood's history and actually trained or developed that part of him, he could possibly be the most powerful character related to Orochi. Guess it's a good thing he doesn't care about that. Hahah.
