Back in 2010, when I started to play wow because of my previous boyfriend, he showed me this song. It became our song. We broke up maaaany years ago but we’re still good friends. He has a girlfriend and a little daughter. Listening to this song brings back so many memories! We explored the whole world of wow and when I go back to those places today, I always think of him with a very warm heart 🥰 I have another boyfriend today and I wish him and his family just the best. This is my favorite version of this song (and it was the first version I ever heard). I was really surprised to discover that the most well-known versions were sung by hot young women. Hot young women singing this song just seems ... completely inappropriate. This is a song that should be sung by somebody who is at least approaching middle age. This isn't a love song for 22-year-olds. I was 22 once. When I was 22, I was a dumbass with no life experience. This is a song to be sung by somebody with life experience. So this is the song I am going to sing to my bride at our wedding in May. I will be 50, and she will be 49. And I'll be singing this version. My favorite line in the song, just because it is completely relevant: "Even when I was flat broke You made me feel like a million bucks" My fiancé and I met during a major lull in my work, when I was literally flat broke, struggling to just pay my rent. I didn't have the money to buy her anything nice. I'm still broke, because my work doesn't pick up until March, but she's still with me. The funny thing is that my fiancé is not a gamer like I am, but I never would have even heard this song if I wasn't a WoW player and Cranius fan. This is just the perfect song for me to sing to her. And actually, at least the last time I checked, Cranius and I live in the same state. Maybe I can persuade him and Legs to come help me with the song :D

I just heard this song somewhere else, and I was convinced it was a Johnny Cash song, but I couldn't find a version by him. I just remembered it being sung 'originally' (i.e. the first time I had heard it) by a cool deep male voice. It took me a good 10-15 minutes to remember it was Cranius. What a great cover!
