In 1834 Phillip Mercer, curate, published a book. 'Tales of Olde Sussex'; a collection of stories given to him by his parishioners. How true they are is anybodies guess.
I am on the trail of Sarah Penny, the lady of the lamp that supposedly haunted the lanes near Thakeham in West Sussex. When Thomas Mills, a dairyman encountered her in the 17th century and ignored her warning, he was to suffer much personal misery.
I hope you like my telling of this haunting story.
