Paul has released his Zine! Check it out here:

Paul Harrison is a street photographer and tour guide based in London. Having picked up a camera for the first time only three years ago, he instantly fell in love with street photography as a practice and an art form. Finding small moments of wonder in the everyday, with an emphasis on colour, coincidence and juxtaposition, Paul immerses himself in a city that he loves, putting in the miles walking the streets of London and it’s museums and art galleries. He says that street photography is good for the soul but not for your soles.
Check out more of Paul's work here:
Instagram: @thepaulharrison/
A big thank you to Paul for letting me spend the day asking him questions and pointing the camera at him. When I first discovered Pauls work on Instagram after being stunned by his photographs I noticed how he wasn't already "famous", whatever that means. I genuinely think his work is some of the very best in the world of street photography and it has been my pleasure putting this together. I hope you enjoy this video as much as I making it. Keep an eye out the National Gallery Zine later this year!

I love the analogy of never knowing music, and then one day walking into a record store. It has happened to me only a few times; like in 1973 when I saw balloons outside of a Licorice Pizza in North Hollywood, on Victory Blvd. And when I went inside they were celebrating two things; David Bowie's Birthday, and the release of his "Pinups" album. It changed my life and my musical tastes forever ! He became my favorite artist of all time and opened my eyes to many new types of music. Many years later I discovered another life changing artist: Koji Tamaki , and his group at the time; Anzenchitai. A group of Japanese musicians, that again changed my musical tastes and my life. I found a sound that I had not known, and not only that, they at the time of my musical "discovery" already had 4 or 5 albums out. It felt like I had unearthed a big treasure chest full of all the things I really needed in my life.

Oh wow...I watch a LOT of KZfaq about photography and photography related content and this one was just (smh in wonder) inspirational in a way I've not seen before. The ebullience, the practical, genuine take on street photography was refreshing. I've heard some of it before but sometimes you hear it from someone who resonates with you and it all just clicks. (Cliche I know) But thank you for this video. Truly thank you. Paul Harrison is inspirational and 'real'. Time to make street photography my regular routine.

Great guy, wonderfully talented and able to spot that extraordinary scene, works hard and long to get his unique shots........this is great street photography and a huge step up from some of the more mundane work that you see on youtube. Good to see the galleries are still allowing photography with a camera rather than jumping on you and demanding to know what you are doing. Did similar in the 60's & 70's and was followed by staff occasionally - most were OK once they knew you were an amateur but were completely opposed to flash - which can damage I am told. Film then didn't have the ability of high ASA/ISO in those days so results were truly grainy - great to see such enthusiasm mixed with great skill.

In the case of the National Gallery, they changed their rules in 2014. It wasn't so much that they specifically wanted to allow photography but more that an inevitable side effect of them introducing free wi-fi was going to be more smartphone usage in the gallery, and how that would make it a losing battle to keep a lid on people taking photos with their phones.
