In an exclusive Interaction with the Business Owners of Dimapur on the Multiple Taxation System and manipulation games by people with vested interests. Over the time, the business of Nagaland and especially Dimapur has been suffering with a lot of financial demands made by different factions, as well as people making false allegations about the business to extract money. These are now the major issues. Going through all odds and problems, it has become difficult to run a business. DCCI often raised their voice against the illegal taxation and multiple taxes, and they have decided to go for an indefinite shutterdown from April 26, 2024, and demanded a solution from the state government.

I'm really pissed after watching how our own state market is being owned by non locals. I would've gone against the DCCI statement, only if the NSCN group only imposed tax on nonlocal owners. GST have already caused inflation to next level and here our own locals suffer heavy taxation from our own army.

It’s only through media we can share our thoughts and ideas to the government so Not only me but one main concern for many Naga youths is the non-locals so if the government is not doing their job why not the youths of the respective colony all over Nagaland step forward and check for illegal migration and also make a law where ILP is limited to a certain period of time like (10-15 years) after that no renewal would be done . From my experience in business field isn't easy... Gst tax, frictional taxes etc... if non local do business its like they earn 50 t0 100 rs as profit but we nagas get the products from other places like in eg. 1000rs worth of tshirts (5 tshirts in wholesale price) and sells with 600 700 per piece) extra profit hi besari muikhan naga manu, easy money... If this miyas shut down their business even 500 rs will be like 10rs 🥲

Multiple taxition is caused not only because of the factions, but there's a huge involvement of the Market commitee and personal individual who acts as a care takers of the commercial areas and the shops. Those so called incharge does all the collection from the market some even collects monthly weekly and on daily bases eats up 70 to 80 percent of the amount collected and gives only around 30 percent or less to the factions and acts as if they are giving it by their own pockets and that creates multiple taxation because they function broad daylight and whoever dosent comes under the committee or the individual caretaker they'll set up all the possibilities measures by sending the people to harass or to make those businessman to come uder the control of the commitee or so called care takers and incharge ,my request is Adminstration should look up to it... caretakers and self-styled market incharge should be banned and for the faction why would we not pay to the NPGs? We will definitely pay and support but the question is what are they giving us in return? 😊
