My husband was going to go over to Landstar and after seeing those cheap rate, I was like no way, we have our own authority, and yes those rate they have selling is sometime double or even triple brokered, also the freight market is very slow right now, so you have to fight for these load as well on the loadboard, the struggle is real out there but from one Jamaican to another never give up. By the way, I was calling you the other day, so we can talk and share ideas, but another guy answer the phone. Peace and stay blessed

The part where one broker gets a load for $3000 takes his cut gave it to another broker and this broker takes his cut by the time you the driver gets it it's down to $2000 or $1800

As a owner operator truck driver, how do you find subcontractor workers when you have emergencies and cannot drive your truck? Also, do you hire subcontractors to drive your truck?

Thats a very good question. It's also important to make sure your truck keep running. So to answer your question your going to be on your own with that just try to stay healthy until you grow and able to hire drivers. Are you can get a insurance for downtime

Its not just foriegn. Im a black man born in nova scotia. We are treated like people think we should be. Instead of how we expect. Ive shown up to a shipper and my son or my femsle friend would come in behind me amd wouldnt you know the white shippers often bypass me and talk to them as if im the 4e year old black helper... Its funny but pathetic. Born and raised canadian treated like im born somewheres else. Its affected my net worth and my job consistency. Im expected to stay let them screw with me and be happy what im given.. Forget it. Im me because of how i navigated myself thru these issues. My family has suffered financially because of what people treat and act like when around me. Its sad for them. It costs me.

Oil field is nice... I've done it but you have to follow rules like a robot. No facial hair (Canadian oilfield), no thinking for yourself, money is good.... great but work like a dog. No life!
