Felt Surrogacy makes me wanna die.

I know the gas leak is an inside joke, but how did the characters personality change in the season? They say it changed since someone else was the show runner-therefore character direction changed-but honestly, I don’t see it. There’s nothing fundamentally different, at least.

Shirley seems determined to blame everyone for her marriage falling apart except Andre. I kind of don't like that she even took him back in the first place... especially because he ultimately ended up leaving her for having a business (even though she stuck around while he was focusing on *his* business before the show even started)

Also, wouldn't have Shirley's kids remembered Abed when they saw him again in that family day episode? The one where her kids hid in Abed's cousin's outfit so she could go play in the bouncy house.

This episode was the worst for many reasons, but that is one of them. It isn't believable that Andre would just sit there and they were really reaching for a reason for Jeff to be involved in Andre cheating because Andre could have cheated at any time. This is just really lazy writing. It also makes no sense at all how Shirley's kids didn't recognize Abed on Family Day in S1 especially since in S1, Shirley and her husband had just broken up. So Shirley's kids would have definitely recognized Abed and Abed also didn't act like that in S1 so none of it adds up.

Well she already forgave Andre by that point. Learning what Jeff did was knew information. Also Chang trying to blow up the school in season 3 means anything the writers did in season 4 automatically gets a free pass. Seriously Community fans who forgive this are just sheep. Chang was deranged but he wasn't a psychopath.

@@kaiser8159 he encouraged the girl to flirt with Andre, but Andre did all of the cheating. It's not like they dateraped him, he cheated on Shirley on his own, no fault of Jeff's. Even if she was a kid, what Shirley did was way more serious than that.

And Andre would have did what he did with someone else even if it wasn't the stripper. And the stripper could have called on her own.

Why would both parents go to pick up the kids? Other than maybe the kids first days, after that only one parent picks up and drops off the kids. I've rarely seen both parents pick up their kids from school/activities.

@@BenRajan The kids calling about being accosted by a crazy man is a weird, unexpected circumstance, not a routine sharing of transportation duties. Even if we stipulate that they drove separately and Andre doesn't need to go with Shirley to get the kids that they are both the parents of, it doesn't make sense for him to stay behind at the bar/restaurant rather than go home. Their plans at the bar/restaurant are clearly going to be either canceled or very delayed.

Yeah, Abed doesn't seem to be a toxic purist. He may not enjoy the prequel trilogy, or the sequel trilogy for that matter, but he wouldn't criticize someone for it other than as an aside I personally think he would not like the sequel trilogy. In fact, I think he would like it less than the prequel trilogy, but not to the point of criticizing people who went to watch the films. That's not Abed

That's the joke, it's a parody of shows that do that. Granted, a lot were already set up like Jeff/Shirley as children and Troy/Annie in high school. Though growing up in the same area, it's not that uncommon, what's funny is how almost all happened in the same time and area as others.

I completely agree. You explained it perfectly. A lot of it doesn't add up either and if people watched this episode and then all of Season 1 they'd see what I mean. I know S1 by heart because its my fav season, so this episode annoyed the hell out of me. I hate the 'we met before we met' nonsense in shows to begin with and thats why-because it completely destroys the original story, none of it adds up or makes any sense, its full of lazy writing, and it does make the earlier seasons and characters feel cheapened.

It could've been cool, but the execution was sloppy, and for the most part, it wasn't terribly necessary, since we see the group forming

Yoda says before that battle that he has good relations with the Wookiee’s so they could have met before that but my point is when after the prequel did they meet? When during the original trilogy did Yoda meet Chewy? I wasn’t talking about the first time they met.
