I don’t watch hot tent videos because I have no interest, I’m a light weight backpacker. However, I watched this video because I enjoy your style of editing and humor. I watch for the entertainment value. I value the entertainment you bring. Why you do not have more subs I do not understand.

@@robpelton ha! I’m headed to the Uintas for a snow shoe in. Taking the Luxe Minipeak XL tent and the Winnerwell Fastfold Titanium stove, the smallest stove they make. The whole stove kit is under 3 pounds. Kind of ridiculous ha ha!

Rob, #1000 here. Gonna miss the traditional content bud. But I am excited for you. Years ago I made a big job change, to one I really was excited to take and it was a big leap for me and it's 100% worth doing. The risk is always better than the years of "wonder what could have been" regret from never taking the leap. I know I am just a random sub but I am also hoping for the best with you and your partner. From what us viewers can see, the body language etc, she seems like a great match for you and maybe that is headed somewhere better too. You deserve it and so does some lucky ladyfriend. Happy for you, 2024 is looking great!

@@robpelton you are welcome to come along if you are interested, you won't need much. Possibly a set of waders, tent, the rest is covered on my end. Custom rods, a drift boat if we want to plug or side drift? I'm tired of spending $179.00 a night just for a place to sleep for a few hours. I tented in 28° whether when I was in my 20's but there's no way that I would do it now at almost 50. But in a hot tent I'm fully on board! I'm in Michigan and a huge fisherman for salmon and steelhead. 30+ years experience. So I'm not just blowing smoke bud. I only have a few videos out there, you will see that I'm a good guy. Well maybe 🤔 hahaha

HT can be packable. My light weight base weight is under 20 lbs. That's with a Seek Outside Cimarron (w/ nest) and a 15"x8x8 titanium stove & pipe. Bigger fast fold stove for ease and longer/consistent burns. Need to be mindful of pack and gear, but base weight can be packable. I use either Durtson Kakwa 55 or HMG Junction 55L pack & Pad- Xtherm or Tensor EC as idea of kit. Doable and enjoyable.

Very doable! A bigger is a mist for me. The loft is that takes up so much room with warmer sleep systems. Good thing down is still pretty light at that volume. I’ve heard good things about Seek Outside.

Pomoly titanium is smaller diameter. I like that one for weight though. overtime may be worth scraping to save weight from creosote build up. 100% Need guy lines on it. Must! I exchange for UL cordage though.

2.36” I believe. Haven’t swapped out guy lines, but I’m not overly concerned yet. It’s amazing how stable the stove gets when guyed out. Thanks again!

there is a secret - never unroll or take off rings for 1st roll. Leave it and slowly twist opposite way and pull/extend. There is at least 1 vid on YTube showing.

Rolling it wrong. Keep it rolled up the short way. Then pull the inside out like an acordian with the rings already on it and slowly massage it out the length.

How do you determine the correct height
@robpelton
@robpelton 3 ай бұрын
It really depends on how tall your tent is. I like the stovepipe to be a minimum of 2’ above the tent. Hope this helps!
